Form analyst, SCOTT MCDONELL, previews Saturday’s Sunshine Coast meeting, with horse racing tips and analysis for all 9 races on the Sunshine Coast course. Good luck, punters!
Track Condition: Heavy 9
Rail Position: True entire circuit
The only query I have with KISUKANO is if she is forward enough after a 17 week spell. Her form was super at first prep with only defeat behind Rothfire. Would keep an eye on what the market says but she must go on top.
MISHANI MISS is another resuming from a long break. Her only win came when first-up at Eagle Farm last prep. Drawn to get perfect sit in behind the speed and if favourite stops final stages she could be the one to watch.
The run of DARK SON at Doomben last start was better than finishing position suggests. He is never far away in his races and can sneak into a placing in this.
ASPEN LAD deserves his chance in town after stringing three dominant wins up North. Hard to line his form up but cannot leave him out.
Going to give you one at enormous odds in this.
NO REFUND was backed in from $7.50 to $6 at Doomben last start and after racing up on the speed first-up just knocked up last 200m behind I Dream Of Green. Looking for him to strip fitter second-up and will be having something each way.
SOCIALISING will open up the short priced favourite coming off three dominant wins this prep and does look the one to beat.
HI FEVER strung together two straight wins then was doing best work late when not far away at Doomben last start. Will get back but if he can weave a passage final 200m is sure to take holding out late.
LEROYTHECONQUEROR came from well back to chase home I Dream Of Green when favourite and that form looks solid enough for this.
Tip: NO REFUND
WREN’S DAY chased home the smart Soxagon over the 1350m at Doomben last start. Gets to the 1400m here and that looks winning move.
CANAPES looks the likely speed in this. If he can get a cheap sectional time in the middle stages would look for him to take some running down.
ARTHUR IN CHARGE was a Newcastle winner fresh then placed at Doomben last start. This nice race for him third-up from spell.
SLOW HANDS resumes fro spell. He has a fresh win on his resume and although will be better when gets over further may sneak into a place.
Tip: WREN’S DAY
I DREAM OF GREEN was dominant at Doomben last start. That was an easier race but if he can cross and again get his own way in front her is sure to take catching.
FABULONH looks ready to win. He has been placed in both starts this track and gets his chance to go one better from up on the speed.
POTRO DORO is racing in super form. Won his last three starts impressively and although steps up a touch in class must include again.
ZOULOU DANCER is another who brings winning form into this. Gold Coast winner two back then backed that up at Ipswich. Goes in all multiples.
Tip: I DREAM OF GREEN
PROMETHEUS won at the Gold Coast first-up from spell then has followed that up with two strong city placings. This looks no harder and he gets chance to return to winners stall.
HIGH POWER finished off solidly when placed at big odds at Eagle Farm two back then beaten less than a length at Ipswich. Racing consistently to be included again.
TATCEE finished too well to win at Ipswich two starts back then run better than finishing position suggests at Doomben last start. This nice race for her.
LUCKY JACKSON loves this track. All five wins have been at this track and won two of three this track/distance. Drawn to get all the favours and he looks a major player.
HOWWONDERFULLIFEIS has won two of her three starts this time in. Most recent when odds on favourite at Doomben. Drawn to get all the favours in behind the speed and should get her chance last 200m.
KALIK comes into this ready third-up from spell. Not beaten all that far at Doomben last start and if he can overcome wide barrier may surprise these.
SAY HAYA relished the heavy track to bolt in at Doomben last start. If there is any rain about her chances would be enhanced.
GIDEONS gave them a galloping lesson here last start winning in a canter. Drawn to get the perfect run from inside gate and must include in multiples.
WAPITI has been a model of consistency of late. Just missed at Eagle Farm two starts back then was placed when favourite at Doomben last start. Drawn little awkwardly but should roll forward and looks hard to beat.
AL JOOD was placed in Listed company at Doomben two starts back then just did not run the 1800m out last start. Gets back to the mile and she will be competitive.
STARLA won with something in hand at Doomben last start when drove clear final stages. Drawn to get all the favours from inside gate and sure to take holding out.
VENDIDIT is a lightly raced gelding who was not beaten all that far in town last start when making good late ground. Gets out to the 1600m here and that looks ideal.
Forget the finishing position of DEEP IMAGE in the G1 Stradbroke Hcp last start when he was never on the track at any stage and entitled to tire. Two previous starts he was placed in Group company and if he finds that form here he can win this.
SOXAGON deserves a chance at this level. Will make his own luck rolling forward to control this race. Won three of his four starts this time in and will look winner at some stage in the straight.
NOBLE BOY comes off a close placing on heavy ground at Rosehill last start. Likely to get similar conditions here and from ideal barrier will get his chance last 200m.
KRONE was brave when placed in Group 3 company last start just finding Sure Knee too strong final stages. Will get the perfect run and with ounce of luck once balanced-up is sure to be a factor.
Tip: DEEP IMAGE
JARDIN ROUGE finished too well to win at Doomben two starts back then backed that up with close placing this track last start. Drawn little awkwardly but happy to have something each way on her in this.
TULLIO is working through his grades winning last couple with something in hand. Gets into city class here and despite wide gate must be included in place chances.
MUSICAL GENIUS resumes from spell. He has solid first-up record (5:2-1-0) and recent Doomben trial should have him primed for this.
MALVER ESTATE is another resuming from a spell. Won two of his four first-up tries and would not leave out based on that stat alone.
