Form analyst, JUSTIN DEVINE, previews Sunday’s meeting at Sha Tin, with horse racing tips and analysis for all 11 races on the card. Good luck, punters!

Track Condition: Turf – Good

Rail Position: True, entire circuit

Sha Tin R1 – Griffin 1200m

14:30 (AEST)

SUNNY STAR and LIKE THAT have been impressive winning their last starts over 1000m and can run well again. SMILING FACE has chased them home on both occasions and looks more suited up to 1200m. With a pull in the weights compared to last time they met, SMILING FACE can get the money today.

Sha Tin R2 – Class 4 1400m

15:00 (AEST)

ARMOR STAR wasn’t far off the winner when finishing 4th on debut. He will be better for the run and with Zac Purton aboard he looks hard to beat. LEAP OF FAITH finished second twice last prep and has trialled well to be cherry ripe first up. They look the top two. NOBLE DESIRE hasn’t been far away at his last three runs and is one to include in exotics with the 4.5kg claim for Jerry Chau.

Sha Tin R3 – Class 4 1600m

15:30 (AEST)

ENJOY LIFE has finished second at his last two runs, both over the 1600m at Sha Tin. He should get a soft run for the Magic Man before finishing over the top of his rivals in the straight. CITY LEGEND got going late and should have finished closer last start, and has drawn to get a nice run for Chad Schofield. The consistent MONSTER KAKA has a tricky gate but will run well if he is able to slot in.

Sha Tin R4 – Group 3 Sha Tin Vase 1200m

16:00 (AEST)

The Group 3 Hong Kong Vase will be an exciting race. The star HOT KING PRAWN will make his own luck in the front as always and make the challengers chase him down. THANKS FOREVER  finished ahead of HOT KING PRAWN in the Chairman’s last time and will take the sit behind him in the run. With a pull in the weights he should get past him in the straight and win. Expect HOT KING PRAWN to fight all the way to the line. The first up WALDORF can run a race fresh and is one to watch.

Sha Tin R5 – Class 3 1200m

16:30 (AEST)

GOOD LUCK FRIEND was an impressive winner two runs back at the track and distance before finishing second last start from a horrible gate. Up in class and down in weights he is the one to beat. BIZ POWER was solid first-up and can improve to be a danger. HAFEET ALAIN and ROMANTIC COMBO are both ex UK gallopers making their Hong Kong debuts at big odds. Both horses showed promise in England and it will be interesting to see how they run.

Sha Tin R6 – Class 4 1200m

17:00 (AEST)

KINDA COOL was narrowly defeated when second on debut and can go one better with some luck from the poor gate. SKY DARCI resumes after showing plenty at his first prep and will get a gun run from barrier 1 for Neil Callan. SCORES OF FUN is a first starter for the Size and Moreira combination who has trialled well. Any betting moves must be respected.

Sha Tin R7 – Class 4 1200m

17:35 (AEST)

XPONENTIAL ran well for second last start without threatening the winner. The 4.5kg claim for Jerry Chau could make all the difference for him today. YEE CHEONG PEGASUS has four seconds and a win from his five runs this prep. Conditions suit. SELL MY SOLE is another Moreira and Size first starter who must be watched.

Sha Tin R8 – Group 1 Chater Cup 2400m

18:05 (AEST)

The best horse in Hong Kong, EXULTANT is a deserved favourite to win the Group 1 Standard Chartered Chater Cup and it is hard to see how he can be beaten. He will get a nice run just off the speed and power away in the straight. FURORE will try to hold the favourites back for as long as possible, while EAGLE WAY can fill a place with a soft run on the rails.

Sha Tin R9 – Class 3 1800m

18:40 (AEST)

This is a really open race with plenty of value if you can find the winner. DEFINING MOMENT has won two from three over the 1800m at Sha Tin and drops back from 2000m with Joao to steer. He looks the best each-way bet on the card. ENZEMBLE has a good record at the distance and with the claim, he looks likely to feature in the finish. TANGMERE has been racing well at Happy Valley and will not get a better chance to improve on his poor Sha Tin record than today.

Sha Tin R10 – Class 3 1400m

19:15 (AEST)

Ex-New Zealand galloper PRIME MINISTER is the most interesting runner on the card. He won four from five in New Zealand with his only failure on a bog track at Ellerslie. First up in Hong Kong after three good trials, he looks capable of running a good race. AMAZING CHOCOLATE was disappointing stepping up to class 3 late start, but with that experience under his belt he can improve today. BEAUTY SPIRIT recorded a deserved victory last start and will run well despite the 3kg weight rise.

Sha Tin R11 – Class 2 1400m

19:50 (AEST)

Ex-Italian galloper GLORIOUS SPECTRUM has started to race well in Hong Kong and isn’t far away from a breakthrough win. Today could be the day. BAND OF BROTHERS is very genuine and can cause an upset at nice odds and TRANSCENDENT can improve with the booking of Joao Moreira for the first time.
