Form student, RIC CHAPMAN, previews Saturday’s Rosehill meeting, with horse racing tips and analysis for all nine races on the card. Good luck, punters!
Rail Position: True, entire circuit
Track Condition: Good 4
Big weight for DIAMOND THUNDER but he is in super form. Took care of a similar field last start which included runner up that day HULK who was resuming. Beat him on their merits but does meet him 2kg worse off. Still, winning form is best form. HULK will strip a lot fitter, though, and did work mid stages last start. Respect. ESPINOLA won first up and is going to be right in this following the 2kg allowance. Good race.
BRIDYN MAY is a smart mare this grade and she showed that first up when a solid finishing 3rd in a Highway here. Fitter now and should settle midfield then come home hard. MICK THE HAT is a chance based on consistency of late and the fact he gets a weight relief here. PLONKA is improving every start and showed that winning a strong mdn last start. Will be thereabouts.
Tip: BRIDYN MAY
SO YOU WIN ran a terrific race first up and this suits a lot more. Should strip fitter, gets a welcome 1.5kg weight relief and should be strong late. LETTER TO JULIETTE is a smart mare who always puts in. But today, she is in very well with the 3kg claim. Respect her a great deal. Saying all that, this bloke JAZZLAND is a bit of a boom horse. He is big, has a massive stride, likes to lead and can run all day. If he wins he heads north for stakes races.
Well, doesn’t this look a Chris Waller benefit race…or does it? Yes, he accepted with 9 of the 15 runners and most have a great chance, chief among them is the ever consistent STAR OF THE SEAS. He should love this trip, will get back and run on hard like he always does. But the Kris Lees runner, TURNBERRY is pretty smart and well suited to this grade. Is racing great and gets a 2kg weight allowance. May very well upset the Waller juggernaut. INSENSATA returned to form with gutsy win in QLD last start. Can place.
Interesting to watch betting moves re OXFORD TYCOON. He is very smart but hasn’t started for a while. Has trialled and those trials were great. Drawn perfectly. CALL ME ROYAL resumes here. Has speed and did win first up and trialled well. TCHAIKOVSKY rattled home for 4th in easier grade last start while fresh. Has won 2nd up in the past. Expect him to be thereabouts.
Tip: OXFORD TYCOON
SHOKORA is 2nd up and has won 2nd up before. Resumed with a terrific run this grade, flashing home late to grab 3rd spot. STROME beat her home that day and she too must be strongly considered. If they both run up to that form, they can fight this out. REELEM IN RUBY is racing in great heart. She is consistent and honest and they are great qualities in mares races.
Very even field. And make that a pretty strong field. The Godolphin pair of DEPRIVE and PIRACY are both very honest and consistent gallopers. Piracy, in particular, is very fit and was closest of 2nds this grade last start. ZONK is very fast and may strive for the front. Did that in an easier race last start and won impressively. Looks in great touch.
Interesting field because the better ones have drawn off the track. So MAPMAKER comes into play here at big odds. Home track form him and he is first up. Should sprint well enough while fresh as he has in the past. NICCO LAD is ready to win having placed 3 out of 3 this time up. And comes in a few spots with the scratchings. Rider Tommy Berry rode 4 winners on Thursday so is in form too. KURNEL JAXON is fresh here too and was consistent this grade when last in work.
