Form student, RIC CHAPMAN, previews Saturday’s Morphettville meeting, with horse racing tips & analysis for all eight races on the card, including the Group 1 The Goodwood. Good luck, punters!

Rail Position: Out 4m from 1200-600, out 6m remainder

Track Condition: Good 4

Looks a good race. ABSOLUTE FLIRT has been the boom horse of late winning both starts this time up in devastating fashion. Is nicely bred, is a stakes winner, cost just $100k as a yearling, has already won past that and looks the winner of this. GINNY ANN got back and rattled home to win mdn on debut in grand style running away at the end. Harder here but has talent as does SPLENDORINTHEGRASS who should sit up in about 4th until they are all called upon and she can run into a place. Won on debut in much weaker grade.

Tip: ABSOLUTE FLIRT

This mare CLEARLY might be the best placed horse all day anywhere in Australia. Originally from France, has stakes form from over there and last start here in Adelaide, came home like a rocket to grab 3rd over a mile. Fitter, acclimatized and will love this trip and weight scale. REMEMBER THE NAME is a classy mare who scored a gutsy win in mares grade at Caulfield last week. Has the credentials to trouble these. SNOGGING is 3rd up, and goes well enough this grade. Has been looking for this journey.

Tip: CLEARLY

ROCK ON is very fit and showed that by flying home to just fail when 2nd similar race last start. The journey is no issue. VALAC is an on pace type who should find little resistance going forward in this. Is very fit and should take catching. NASHVILLE SOUND is in terrific form winning 3 of past 5 and although up in class here, that form can’t be overlooked.

Tip: VALAC

NORDIC SYMPHONY is right up to this grade and is a dual acceptor. If connections choose this race, she looks wonderfully placed. Was hard closing 5th in Gr 1 Oaks over 2000m. It will be interesting to see PRISM perform here. She’s in form and fit but likes to roll forward and is yet to race this far. MISS MOANA is rising through the grades in Sydney. New here but can stay.

Tip: NORDIC SYMPHONY

Terrific race, full of twists and turns and possible results. BALF’S CHOICE goes well this track and is back in great form. Ran home hard for 2nd in a similar race last start. BRING ME ROSES is very smart and better than these on her day. Was impressive being on the pace all way when close up 5th in the Gr 2 behind Music bay last start. Chance. HUSSYBAY is also a star around these parts and form is solid. Sure to measure up.

Tip: BRING ME ROSES

PRINCESS OF QUEENS was up on pace in the Gr 1 last start but wilted late to finish near the rear. Much, much fitter now and this is easier. Expect a bolder showing. FLYING KRUPT is in great shape. Has always been very honest and consistent at any level and 4th up here looms large. HUMMA HUMMA is the youngest here but is also talented enough to make presence felt. Respect.

Tip: FLYING KRUPT

Not the best Goodwood we’ve ever seen but that just plays into the hands of the pair who ran the quinella in the recent Gr 1 Robert Sangster this track. They are SPRIGHT and COOL PASSION. Both were dominant that day and this race looks no harder – maybe will be run faster early on – but no harder. Spright has a dazzling finish and she is in grand form. Cool Passion meets her 2kg better at the weights and looms large as the main danger. BOOKER is a Gr 1 winner so must be considered. Goes really, really well fresh too and resumes here while JAMAICAN RAIN and GYTRASH are strong late and look well in at the weights.

Tip: 1. SPRIGHT, 2. Cool Passion, 3. Booker, 4. Jamaican Rain

DEXELATION is fast and goes well this grade. Won 4 on the bounce before spelling. Looked great in a recent trial. EXTREME THRILL won past 2 and is getting better with every run. Drawn well too. Looks well placed. MASIPAG is honest and won easier race well last start. Place hope.

Tip: DEXELATION
