Form analyst, JUSTIN DEVINE, previews Wednesday’s meeting at Happy Valley, with horse racing tips and analysis for all 8 races on the card. Good luck, punters!

Track Condition: Turf – Good

Rail Position: True, entire circuit

Happy Valley R1 – Class 5 1200m

22:15 (AEST)

FOX CHEUNGER won well last start at Sha Tin and has won over the 1200m at Happy Valley before. He looks well placed to go back to back. REGENCY GEM resumes and while he is better over further he must be respected with Zac Purton to steer. GREEN ENVY zoomed home over 1000m last time and looks suited up to 1200m tonight. He is one to include at nice odds.

Happy Valley R2 – Class 4 1650m

22:45 (AEST)

KING DRAGON found the line well over 1400m last start and the step up to 1650m looks ideal. He is the one to beat. CALIFORNIA LEGEND finished off last season well with two placings and his two recent trials have been sound. He can run well fresh. SUMSTREETSUMWHERE has been thereabouts at his last couple and will appreciate the 4.5kg claim for Jerry Chau.

Happy Valley R3 – Class 4 1200m

23:15 (AEST)

SHINING ON won at the track and distance in the same class last start and has drawn perfectly in gate 1. He ticks all the boxes. GLENEALY GENERALS has won fresh before and has trialled well. With Zac aboard any betting moves must be respected. FEARLESS FIRE was four lengths off his rivals last start and drops 5.5kgs this week. He looks a knockout chance for the Hayes stable.

Happy Valley R4 – Class 4 1000m

23:45 (AEST)

FARM BUMPER sat midfield last start before proving too strong for his rivals in the run home. I’m happy to stick with him in an open race. WILD WEST WING for the Size/Moreira combination is closing in on a win after back to back placings and if the Magic Man can get across from gate 12 he is a threat. SIMPLY FLUKE drops back to 1000m after a couple of nice runs over the 1200m and is capable of an upset with the 4.5kg claim.

Happy Valley R5 – Class 4 1200m

00:15 (AEST)

HERCULES looks a progressive type and was far too good for his rivals last start over the same trip at tonight’s race. Zac Purton retains the ride and from gate 3 he will enjoy the run of the race. The best bet on the card. NOBLE MAN put in a much better run last start and carries 6kg less than the favourite. He is the danger. TELECOM ROCKET flashed home to be less than a length off the winner over 1000m last start and looks capable of another strong finish over the 1200m.

Happy Valley R6 – Class 3 1200m

00:45 (AEST)

THE RUNNER was an impressive winner two runs back before finishing less than two lengths behind the winner last start. He drops 1kg on his last run and looks well placed. LOVING A BOOM will jump favourite but his record of two wins and 10 placings suggests he is a non winner. He looks set for another minor placing tonight. Ex New Zealand galloper PRIME MINISTER was plain on his Hong Kong debut but has since trialled well. He can add some spice into exotics.

Happy Valley R7 – Class 3 1800m

01:15 (AEST)

NAMJONG PLUS should be reaching peak fitness after recent racing and is a three-time winner over the 1800m at Happy Valley. He is clearly the one to beat. DELIGHTFUL LAOS found the line well over the 1650m and should get an economical run throughout. He will be closing late. WEALTHY DELIGHT will be fitter for recent racing and any betting moves must be respected.

Happy Valley R8 – Class 2 1650m

01:50 (AEST)

FLYING QUEST is a four-time track and distance winner who has drawn to do no work in the run from barrier 1. With 51.5kgs he is thrown in at the weights and is the best each way bet for the night. GREEN LUCK has been close up in recent runs and Joao Moreira is a positive riding change. He has ridden him to two wins from three attempts. BUDDIES has been in great form at Sha Tin and if he can bring that form across to Happy Valley he will be right in the finish.
