T: Anthony Freedman / J: Mark Zahra (58.5kg)
Superstar sprinter who looks across the line. Loves this track. Is better than his rivals and is 3rd up now. Respect him a great deal.
T: Chris Waller / J: James McDonald (58.5kg)
Surprised with his game 4th in the $14 million The Everest. He had to shoot out of the gates and used a lot of gas but found the front and was still there near home. Looks the obvious leader here and has drawn wide so he gets first look at the outside rail if they all choose to go there. May play a huge role.
T: Chris Cangemi / J: Jarrad Noske (58.5kg)
Is outstanding on his day. Rocketed home to grab 4th when resuming last start in Gr 1 sprint, and this track will suit his style of racing a lot more. Gets back then launches. Probably comes with Santa Ana Lane and that tends to drag horses along. Big place chance.
T: Tony Pike / J: Dwayne Dunn (58.5kg)
Was beaten half a length by Trekking and Ball Of Muscle 2 starts back and both of them have placed at Group level since. Last start he was always handy when close up 5th to Loving Gaby in Gr 1. Tough draw as he’ll be in 2 minds and might just be a length behind the top 3.
T: Neville Parnham / J: Damien Oliver (58.5kg)
A terrific campaigner from Western Australia. Goes well this track but he’s up against a few who are from the top shelf. That will be proven final stages. is honest but 5th spot is the best I can rate him.
T: Matt Ellerton & Simon Zahra / J: Damian Lane (58.5kg)
Fascinating galloper on many levels. Has a lot of talent. Brilliantly won over 1200m here in the Gr 2 Bobby Lewis coming with a huge sprint in fast time. Then close up 3rd behind Sunlight and Santa Ana Lane at this track again in the Gr 2 Gilgai. Is right in this as he can storm home.
T: Kris Lees / J: Brenton Avdulla (56.5kg)
Brilliant sprinting mare on her day and goes really well here. Beaten a lip by Santa Ana Lane here in this race last year in fast time. Has won here beating the great Sunlight. Was plain when resuming in The Everest when fading 9th but can improve very quickly.
T: James Cummings / J: Hugh Bowman (56.5kg)
Can win this. Sat probably a pair too close in The Everest. She moved up and accelerated to win the race but then plodded last 150m because she’d gone too hard early. If Hughie rides her cold and she drops to near the rear early, she can pounce and beat them all.
T: Ciaron Maher & David Eustace / J: Craig Williams (51.5kg)
Very smart filly who hits the line brilliantly. Has always performed at the highest level. Will get back and will run on very hard with no weight on her back. Came at them late with powerful strides to win the Gr 1 Mankato at The Valley most recently in fast time. Big show.
