T: James Cummings / J: Glen Boss (59kg)
What a star. Such a brilliant galloper and so honest. Overlook his useful first up 5th in this grade. He has a history of needing a run before he produces his devastating turn of foot. So, 2nd up here, worked the house down between races on Wednesday and looks ready to go bang.
T: John Thompson / J: Nash Rawiller (59kg)
Tough customer. Gr 1 winner and always puts himself into the race, on speed and generally if left alone he can prove extremely hard to run past. Resumes here and trials have been excellent.
T: Bjorn Baker / J: Josh Parr (59kg)
Gr 1 winner on the comeback trail. He’s a day to day proposition as he hasn’t raced for well over a year and half. But, his trials say he is back flying and running with gusto. Will be handy throughout.
T: James Cummings / J: Rachel King (59kg)
Resumes here. Is very smart but is also, at times, very disappointing. Did win Gr 3 prior to spell and now a gelding he might just become more genuine. Worked with Bivouac during the week. Is a handy back-up.
T: Jenny Graham / J: Kerrin McEvoy (59kg)
Really good sprinter but this field is outstanding and he’s drawn poorly. Not keen.
T: Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott / J: Tim Clark (59kg)
Is a star. Is a bonafide, genuine racehorse with loads of talent. Resumes here and has great first-up stats. Is very honest and although Gr 1 first-up is a tough ask he has trialled really well. Have in your numbers.
T: Team Hawkes / J: Tommy Berry (59kg)
Good galloper. Looked Gr 1 material when he resumed in the Gr 3 Southern Cross Stakes in February, chiming in late and roaring clear to win easily. This is a few grades better and although still a boom horse he might find it tough late.
T: James Cummings / J: Hugh Bowman (57kg)
Is also a multiple Group winner and is going to be hard to beat as she is going as well as ever. Stablemate to Bivouac and she is particularly brilliant on her day. Won brilliantly before spelling and looked even better when resuming. Has to be a major threat.
T: Chris Waller / J: James McDonald (57kg)
Finished brilliantly to run 2nd when resuming. Is all class but is going to get back and give a few of these bonafide Gr 1 horses a start. Will run on though and could sneak a place.
T: Anthony Cummings / J: Regan Bayliss (57kg)
Covered a lot of extra ground when resuming but did weaken badly late. This grade will test her 2nd up.
T: Annabel Neasham / J: Tom Marquand (56kg)
What a star. is one of the best 3YOs but there is a nagging doubt this 3YO crop may not be quite up to the older horses. Saying that, he ran a terrific 3rd against his own age group when resuming at stakes level. Place.
