Senior form analyst, RIC CHAPMAN, previews Wednesday’s Grafton meeting, with horse racing tips and analysis for all 8 races on the big day. Good luck, punters!

Track Condition: Soft 5

Rail Position: True, entire circuit

DIVINE APPROACH is a very consistent mare and she has been heavily backed overnight. Too strong, and was most impressive winning Grafton Cl 1 over 1215m last start by nearly 5lengths.

ILLECEBROUS has now had two solid runs this time up and last start was a strong Cl 2 winner at Port Macquarie. That was similar to this. Very fit now and aided by rails draw.

SAVANNA JEUNE is a bit in and out but was a fair effort on little track when 4th at Casino this grade last start. Bigger track suits.

REXX will be big odds but he is 3rd up here and is the likely leader. Led when a battling 5th this level last start this track over 1400m and surely is much fitter now.

WILLO TITO is very close to a win. Sat back 4th to the bend when weaving through for closing 2nd this grade at Casino last start over 1400m. was placed start prior and this bigger track, suits a great deal.

ARCALETTE is a smart mare. Was runner-up to a smart one at Casino this grade over 1400m last start. Came from a mile back. Has always been honest and that makes her a big threat.

ACHI BABA will be big each-way odds but a few starts back was running brave placings in this grade. And even last start, was a good 5th this grade at Scone. Scratched yesterday for this.

FLASH AAH rises in grade here but is showing good talent up north. Resumed from a spell with speed display to win at Dalby last start. Must include.

FIREBOX well backed at past two starts, including when fav last start. was 6th at Ipswich and although not beaten far, the run was a little disappointing. Has been backed already again.

He is a bit inconsistent but FURPHY’S last start 2nd in this company at Ballina over 1000m suggested he is a big show here too. He was resuming from a spell that day so strips a fair bit fitter now.

MARSHALL DILLON had won a barrier trial and the money came flooding in for him on debut. He moved up to win only to be run down by his well-performed stablemate. Looked all at sea. Should be fitter and wears blinkers for the first time here. No surprise to see him win this easily.

The lightly raced TOTO ran 2nd at Scone last start in what may have been a slightly stronger maiden. He was resuming that day but may be facing a pretty smart one here.

The toppie CAMP RIFLE has had a change of stable. Ran 5th for new trainer Tony Newing last start in a similar race. Moved up to win but petered out on run. Can alone here.

EIGHTH IMMORTAL is lightly raced and was only 6th, beating one home, at Hawkesbury ina  Cl 1 last start. Is 4th up now and drawn perfectly.

BOZEMAN after winning a Cl 1 here looking a million dollars he went to Ipswich and was spanked finishing last. Spelled for 6 months after that, and has placed in a pair of trials of late.

MACCHINA VOLANTE is stepping up in class here but he must be considered because he has won his past 4 starts. And won them very well with big weights. Knows how to be first.

FOXBOROUGH is a bona fire Saturday grade 3YO filly. She mixes her form but if her head is in the game she can win this comfortably.

READY TO HUMBLE is very honest and off this inside draw he must be considered. Showed speed and fight to win a strong Highway in town recently.

FASHCHANEL will strip fitter following a useful and unlucky 6th on a Saturday in town over 1400m. If she travels well from Sydney to race here she is a player.

SNITZ  is a very honest sprinter. Big weight here but can carry weight. Has won’t 4 of past 5 and last start was 3rd in town on a Saturday. That all makes him an imposing threat here.

HIGHTAIL is interesting. Is a 3YO and after a pair of wins in his age group, he was a tiring 12th in the Gr 1 Stradbroke over 1400m. Is capable of smashing these.

SOUTHERN LAD is very smart but actually doesn’t win very often. Saying that, he runs on hard and has placed at past 4 runs in similar grade. Big show.

OZARK will be big odds but his lightweight and ability to run on, give him a place show.

PLAISIR is out of form. Beaten a long way last start in town in a stronger race. Has finishing power but hasn’t been running on of late. Drop in class may turn him back on.

CALIFORNIA LONGBOW was a solid finishing 6th in the same race Plaisir was 12th in last start. So you’d expect him to finish well ahead of him and if so, rates very highly.

Consistency and honesty are great attributes at this level and the mare CHILLY CHA CHA has that in spades. Ran 3rd in town over 1800m last start and will be on speed all the way.
