Form analyst, RIC CHAPMAN, previews Wednesday’s Canterbury meeting, with horse racing tips and analysis for all 7 races. Good luck, punters!

Track Condition: Heavy 8

Rail Position: Out 6m, entire circuit

You must think CONTENTEDLY will be hard to beat. She was tried against the good ones when last in work and although she failed she showed talent. The spell and recent trials may well have I improved her for this. Big, big show.

Her stablemate MORIOKA can be expected to run boldly too. She started once last campaign and it was an encouraging 3rd, just behind her rival here SOCIALIST. But this filly came from near last on the bend and was hitting the line very hard. Socialist is 3rd up here and she is ready to run an almighty race also.

Lots of chances here. ASTROLOGER resumed from a spell last start in this grade and loomed to win before knocking up final stages and running a pleasing 2nd. Better placed here and is fitter too. Rates highly.

BEST SIDE has looked strong late in both starts to date – both of which ended up in 4th placings. Sure to be fitter now and the experience makes him a threat.

OVERMANN sat back a long way offf the pace in the race Astrologer and the very smart Cork Harbour were in yet he made tremendous headway late to run 4th. Big chance.  Terrific contest.

The class of MAGIC RULER is high but he resumes in this. Looked a smart horse in the making previously having been runner-up three times and this looks easier.

LUCKY TO WIN was on speed most of the way when a fair 5th this level last start. Certainly is fitter now. Some money for him overnight.

ALIGHTED hasn’t done much yet did improve a fair bit to grab 3rd last start this grade when resuming. Much fitter now so looms large.

Tough race here with a few hopes. This top weight KOOKABAA looks nicely place, especially with the allowance. He will sit back off what appears a fast pace and the very wet track plays into his favour too. Should dash home hard late. Very fit now too as he is 3rd up.  Loves this grade.

The other three runners in this race like to go forward. Of them probably CALESCENT is the best for 2nd with the other two, SHADOW BRIDGE and ZELIFY battling away for 3rd.

Good race. This may be a tad short for KOBE ROCKS but being 2nd up and on a heavy track he comes into this. Has won twice, one of them on a heavy track. Strong claims.

The clouds are aligning so it seems for SAHRA here. She hit the line hard when resuming last start when 3rd in slightly better company. Fitter now and she has been very honest every run in her career thus far.

BETHENCOURT is smart this level. Resumes here but has terrific first-up stats. Respect.

Interesting race because the better ones, obviously, are the highest weighted ones and as such they will be tired late in this mud. RAPTURES was strong winning this grade at Newcastle recently showing she is a stayer. Is very fit and beat rival here MY DELIGHT home by just over a length. The difference here is that My delight, the baby sister of former superstar Criterion, gets a 1.5kg advantage. Have them both in your numbers..

At the weights DREAM MAIDEN who has won over 2000m appeals also. She is tough and gets a claim here which makes her look well placed considering she won at a sim liar level last start. Expect her to be near lead out of the way of the mud, all the way.

This does look like a nice race KUTAYHA who looks to have come back a Saturday level horse. He was showing all sorts of talent at various trips last campaign and did win at this Bm level last campaign. Trials have been great. Respect.

MEDIA STARGUEST is strong and very strong late. Got home hard for 2nd in a similar race last start and the wet track may help.

SALLY POPS has run three placings from four starts this campaign. Always a threat again. Big danger.
