Form analyst, RIC CHAPMAN, previews Friday’s Canterbury meeting, with horse racing tips & analysis for all eight races on the card. Good luck, punters!

Track Condition: Heavy 8

Rail Position: Out 6m, entire circuit

Lots of money coming in overnight for the Chris Waller filly DANCING GIDGET. Was disappointing last start but has drawn well here and is 3rd up. IMPACTFUL showed up late when 4th on debut this grade at Kensington. Should be fitter and is ready to run a blinder. CHARLES SEVEN has placed at past 3 runs this grade.  Drawn to be handy all the way.

The wet track could cause havoc to form here. THE PROMISE won well two starts back but only plodded last start this grade when 7th. Can improve. GLAMOUR FOX is racing well enough to be a threat in this. Placed at past two this level. NIMALEE won impressively at BM 64 last start in town. Perfect draw here. This is harder but is getting better with every run.

This race looks tough to work out in the mud. SEENTOOMANY has the great draw and did win impressively first up from a spell last start in QLD. This might be harder but seems progressive. TATIARA has drawn next to her and was a good 5th in stronger race last start. Is 2nd up here. POLHAMPTON has run a couple of strong 4ths since resuming. Might surprise here. Can show up.

A very even affair. I like the look of front-runner DYLAN’S ROMANCE here. Led and fought on well when 7th in a much stronger race last start at Randwick. Loves the mud. Loves to lead and will like this drop in pressure. MOUNTAIN BREATH is getting acclimatized with every Aussie start and last start when 3rd at BM 70 level was a great lead into this. Big show. PEACE OF MIND is up in class but is racing well enough to warrant a thought. Wet track evens everything up.

MONEGAL steps up in class here following a game bush win. Is in form and anything can happen in the mud. PICARO has the good rails draw here. Was pretty consistent when last in work. One start this time up was a fair 7th this grade. Gets blinkers back on again here. Should be fitter now. THINK IT OVER is very honest. Won only start last campaign and this time up has had just the one start for a very game 2nd in this grade. Looks hard to beat.

The big boy SIR ELTON has drawn off the track here but in the mud that may not be such a bad thing. Was 5th when resuming last start in a tougher race and he was expected to win. So, 2nd up, down in grade he might just go bang. Helping him, blinkers go back on. DEFERENCE is only lightly raced but is showing talent. Was a good 3rd over 1000m in BM70 last start when resuming. His stablemate AVON RULER resumes here and probably likes it further. But just maybe the most talented horse in the field. Is racing strongly.

I think ORIENTAL RUNNER is very fit now and is coming back in grade following a plodding 6th at Randwick last start. Has drawn poorly but that isn’t a concern on a wet track. CONDOR comes back in trip but is versatile and seems to have found best form again.  ACCELERATO whether by design or not, he was well back to the turn and rattled home for 2nd slightly weaker grade last start. Will be running on.

WARFARE is one of two Team Snowden runners, both with strong chances but despite his draw he looks ready to rumble. QUIET RIOT for Bjorn Baker, is undefeated from just one start to date. Much harder here but looked good winning. PLAQUETTE is up in grade but she raced away winning mdn last start here over this trip. Chance.
