Form analyst, SCOTT MCDONELL, previews Saturday’s The Valley meeting, with horse racing tips and analysis for all 9 races on the The Valley course. Good luck, punters!

Track Condition: Soft 5

Rail Position: True entire circuit

Have been on VICTORIA STAR at his last couple of starts in town and he has been close-up. Most recent was in Listed company and gets back in right race here. He really should win this with ounce of luck and will be sticking with him again.

VASSILATOR is never far off them in these type of races. Comes off last start Flemington placing when chased home soundly and he looks the danger to the favourite.

EXASPERATE resumes from spell. Finished last prep with two solid Caulfield wins and he can produce a run fresh. Would not leave out of multiples.

AL GALAYEL looks close to finding his best form this time in. Just out of placings at Flemington last start and that form looks solid enough to be include in place chances.

I am going to have something the win and double the place on JABALI RIDGE getting back to the 1000m. I would expect that they will look to cross and lead with him as they did last start and he may steal this from the corner.

THERESABEARINTHERE is a promising gelding. Won two of his three starts at first campaign and only defeat was when competitive in Listed company. Looks well placed with the advantage of apprentice claim and he can win this.

TANKER resumes from spell. He just fell short in the better 2yo races last prep. Would keep an eye on any market support fresh but he certainly has the ability to be competitive.

DIESEL ‘N’ DUST demolished a maiden field at Wodonga last start. Obviously this a much tougher affair but must respect on what he did last start.

A BEAUTIFUL NIGHT is a Group 3 winner at first prep. She has drawn a little awkwardly but has plenty of speed and if forward enough happy to go with her on an each way basis.

GEIST resumes. She raced in top class last campaign and was placed in Group 2 company. Smart filly and would include in winning chances.

MISS BOSETTI has the advantage of race fitness on her side. Drawn to get ideal run in behind the speed and with ounce of luck from the corner can figure in finish.

PEGGY SELENE won maiden with ease two starts back then just missed in driving finish on the heavy ground last start. Another who will get ideal run and if she can find a gap from the corner will be a factor.

BROOKLYN HUSTLE resumes. She looks the class runner in this field. Placed in Group 3 company two starts back then was not disgraced in Group 1 Coolmore Stud Stakes before going for a break. Will give them a start but she has won her only start this track and will be powering over these late.

PROPELLE is becoming a little costly for punters but in saying that she is never far away in her races. Should get all the favours from her inside barrier and with some luck from the corner will be hard to hold out.

LUCIFER’S REWARD was a surprise winner at Caulfield two starts back before battling at Flemington last start. If he can rediscover form from two back he would be in the mix.

FIGHT lived up to his name at Flemington last start when stayed tough holding on for minor spot. Will make his own luck going forward and would not leave him out of winning chances.

SOARING EAGLE chased home steadily at Flemington last start and that was in better race than she finds here. She has yet to win this time in but races well at The Valley and gets in winnable race. Looks a nice each way bet in an even race.

CLEMENTINA resumes from spell. She was a model of consistency last time in work and although will be better over further can run a cheeky race at big odds.

LEALE gets back in her right race. Just has not finished her races off well enough in two runs back but comes into this third-up and should be ready to find best form.

WEST WIND is another who looks ready to find her best form third-up from spell. Drawn to get all the favours in behind the speed and cannot leave out of multiples.

WILMOT PASS finished too well winning at Flemington last start. Will get ideal run from barrier draw and only needs a gap to open up last 200m to win again.

RIVER JEWEL was touch disappointing at Caulfield last start when did not finish the race off. Placed this track and distance back in June and she can bounce back around The Valley.

TITAN BLINDERS resumes from spell. Won two of four first-up including last prep when finished too well at Ballarat. This a nice race for him to resume in and cannot leave out of chances.

CONDO’S EXPRESS is another first-up from spell. Took on some hot races last time in work and just fell a little short. He has talent and drawn to get ideal run.

Can see MIRIMAR rolling forward and controlling this from the front. He was strong late winning at Caulfield last start and can steal this from the corner.

MAHAMEDEIS sprinted clear and won with something in hand last start. Should get a nice run in behind the speed and will have last crack at leaders final 200m. He can win again.

DANON ROMAN got up in last couple of strides to win at Flemington two starts back then just held ground last start. Racing well and sure to be competitive again.

TAVIRUN comes off a good strong win at Hillside last start. Drawn perfectly to slot in behind the speed and n reason he cannot measure up to these.

Would have liked BATTLE TORQUE to have drawn a little better than he has but he comes into this off two solid city placings and expect he can figure in the finish again at nice each way odds.

WINNING PARTNER looks well weighted with the advantage of Will Prices claim. Was hitting the line strongly when placed at Morphettville last start and that form should hold up in this field.

TATUNKA strung together three straight wins on the provincial circuit before running a competitive race when placed at Caulfield last start. Only needs to hold that form to figure in place chances again.

The Oliver/O’Brien combination have SUKOOT in the race. Dominant winner at Ballarat first-up this campaign and has not been all that far in last couple. Cannot leave out of multiples.

PROPER ROGUE won with something in hand at Caulfield two starts back then covered plenty of ground at Flemington last start and just battled late. Should get a much better run from ideal barrier and he should get chance to return to winners stall.

SEA DRAGON lost his chance at the start at Flemington when knuckled and had to be used up early leaving nothing in the tank late. Drawn wide but has the speed to take up forward position and has been placed in both runs this track.

HYPERSONIC is the big query crossing the border with an undefeated record from his two starts. The up and comer in this field and can make it three from three.

Did not mind the run of REARD at Flemington last start. He overraced and did not finish race off but still not beaten all that far. May sneak into the multiples at big odds.
