Form analyst, SCOTT MCDONELL, previews Wednesday’s Sandown Hillside meeting, with horse racing tips and analysis for all 8 races. Good luck, punters!
Track Condition: Good 4
Rail Position: Out 8m entire circuit
DRAGON TIME deserves a maiden win. Just peaked on run here last start when ran into minor placing. Drawn perfectly and he looks the one to beat.
YULONG PREMIER was making good late ground at Benalla last start and maiden win is not far off for him. Would not leave out of place chances.
ROSENSTRASSE only got going final stages behind dominant winner at Moe last start. If she can sit touch closer she can figure late.
FORLIAH resumes from spell. She showed enough last time in work to suggest she has ability and from inside gate gets all the favours.
Tip: DRAGON TIME
AUDACIOUS HEART was sent out favourite at Geelong last start. She sat up on the speed before finding one too smart final stages. Needs some luck from her barrier but she looks top pick.
FAN CLUB comes into this off two solid placings at first two starts. Has the speed to get across from wide gate and sit in first couple and she will be in this for a long way.
Liked the way CLAP got to the line when placed at Benalla on debut. Sure to be better from the race experience and would not leave him out of multiples.
AIN’T SHE CUTE looks close to a win with two strong provincial placings leading into this. Drawn to get the ideal run in transit and she looks a winning chance.
Tip: AUDACIOUS HEART
TRANSLATION showed plenty of speed in jumpout. Damien Oliver jumps aboard for Godolphin and would expect her to drive through and lead these and will be the one they have to run down.
VANDOULA LASS was doing her best work last 100m in jumpout and was never fully extended. She looks to have ability and will be no surprise to see her win this.
BELLATINA is nicely bred being out of a Bel Esprit mare. Has the dominant Jamie Kay on top for her debut and from astute stable. Sure to be well educated.
DIVINE WATERS jumped to the front and held on winning Cranbourne jumpout. Should sit up on the pace and will be competitive for a long way.
Going to have something on NAVAL ENVOY each way. Just got too far off them at The Valley last start but did get home well enough. Bigger track here is sure to suit.
ZIMOWY only just missed at Mornington first-up then beaten less than a length last start. Comes into this ready third-up and must include in chances.
MANHATTAN WAR had no luck when always wide at Bairnsdale last start but still proved too tough final stages. This touch harder but can sneak into a place.
RUTHERFORD started short priced favourite at Geelong first-up and powered away last 200m and won in a canter. Drawn perfectly and can measure up to this.
Tip: NAVAL ENVOY
CHEQUERBOARD was only run down late when placed at Bendigo first-up then she just held ground here last start but that was Listed class. Back in winnable race here.
MYSTIQUE FALCON resumes from spell. Won here two starts back then progressed to Listed company before break and was not disgraced. Would not leave out.
Had something on SEERESS at The Valley last start and thought she was not disgraced. Third-up from spell and at each way odds will be having a nibble again.
ARABIAN HUSSEY won her maiden two starts back then beaten less than 3 lengths in similar race to this last start. Drawn bit awkwardly but cannot leave out.
LITTLE MERMAID won her maiden with authority at Terang on debut then followed with city placing. Had long break and may find best when fresh.
MISS HARRIETTE resumes from spell. Will be better when she gets over much further than this but drawn to get soft run and may run cheeky race fresh.
GINA LOLA resumes from spell. She has won fresh and raced consistently last time in work. Would not leave her out of place chances.
LA SCIPPATORI was impressive at Avoca two starts back then went to town and was placed at The Valley. Only needs that for to be right in finish.
Tip: LITTLE MERMAID
NORDIC SYMPHONY comes off placings in the Mortlake and Dunkeld Cups respectively. Drawn to get all the favours and happy to have something on her each way.
AUSTRATA won his maiden fresh then did not think he was suited at The Valley last start when making some good late ground. Barrier a concern but would not leave out of multiples.
WARRIOR WOMAN has won two of her last four starts. Led all the way at Mornington two starts back and would not be surprised to see her try similar tactics.
PERENNIAL relished the heavy to win two back then went to Flemington and was getting home well enough last start. Would not leave out of multiples.
Tip: NORDIC SYMPHONY
Going to have something on SPRING BOUQUET at big odds first-up. Has the advantage of apprentice claim and she will be hitting the line hard last 200m.
O’TAUTO is a bit of enigma. No doubting his abundance of talent but he does not win out of turn. Comes off last start Cranbourne placing and must include him again.
Liked the way TRITON RISING attacked the line to win at Cranbourne last start. Needs some luck from his awkward barrier but if close enough will be in finish again.
KUZCO LAD is a model of consistency. Mornington winner two starts back then was close up in similar race to this last start. Drawn the get perfect run and must include.
