Form analyst, RIC CHAPMAN, previews Wednesday’s Sandown meeting, with horse racing tips and analysis for all eight races on the Hillside card. Good luck, punters!

Rail Position: Out 8m, entire circuit
Track Condition: Heavy 9

Interesting race. Just 6 runners, 5 of them have won a race and 4 of them are last start winners! And the mdn has been runner-up at past 2 runs. LADY LOIRE who cost $240k as a yearling and boasts such names as Alizee in her pedigree, looms large. She bolted in at Wagga on debut then straight to Sat grade and was a strong 3rd. ACTING led all way, despite stout pedigree, to win in the bush last start and SHEZAWITNESS was backed as if unbeatable on debut at Sale and won comfortably. Nice race.

METEOR LIGHT hasn’t won for a long time but is in a strong staying stable and has placed this level at 4 of past 5 starts. DISCO REBEL has won through the grades and should run well. Can stay and won 3 of past 4 runs. UBIN THUNDERSTRUCK has been out of form for a while but on best form is suited to this. Can place.

Hard to go past winning form and ELITE LEGACY has won past 3 in easier grade. He also gets a 3kg weight allowance and deserves a crack at this grade. RHAMES resumes here but he might be a nice horse in the making. His get back style and run on will be suited to this track. Is first up here but has won first up in the past. Hardest test to date but he has wheels. MANIHI MISCHIEF has terrific 2nd up form and is 2nd up here.

The toppie FREEZE OVER couldn’t have been more unimpressive first up when weakening to last in BM 78. Is better than that and is back in grade. FINAL CHOICE is 3rd up here and is ready. Gets a welcome 2kg claim and was strong 4th this grade last run. PARIS is up in grade but is showing talent. Ran through the line hard to win mdn last start. And has no weight on back here.

Pretty even bunch. Hard to work out so I’m going to box the 3 most in-form runners. They are: MUTUAL RESPECT; PAPERBOY and TOO GOOD TOO HARD. All are emerging talents and have good enough draws.

Tough, tough field to dissect. Bush trained ROLAND GARROS has found a lease on life that is sparkling. Has driven to the lead past 2 starts in the bush and has set decent fractionals and won easily both times. Obviously harder here but will be in it for some time. BARITONE IRE is new to Australia. Only win was over 2413m in England. Looks to have talent. Watch market. His stablemate SPANISH POINT is in same boat and his lone win was in Ireland. Chance.

NUDGE BAR reads well. He’s won his past 2 starts and previous form was most reliable as well. The barrier is a worry but does get a 2kg allowance to help. TAKSU has only had 7 starts but has performed honestly and above average in all of them winning 2 rather recently. KENT STREET is similar. Just very honest and strong 2nd last start similar race.

Tough race to end the day on. BETTYRAE RUBY looks a tough as old boots girl. She resumed from a spell and despite being $31 in this grade last start, she sat off the speed and chimed in to win impressively. She repeats that effort she can repeat the result. Only up 2kg. PEKO is 3rd up and both runs this time in haven’t set the world on fire but was very competitive in this grade when last in work. LADY LOFT is very honest and consistent. Third up here and both starts have been very strong for this.
