Rail Position: Out 8m, entire circuit

have you ever seen a better BM72 race? Wow…there is probably future group winners in this. SUPERIUM was first across the line in a strong race last start but probably unluckily lost the race in the steward’s room. is very honest and game and looks first-rate. Should be fitter now too. PANDEMIC carried no weight but accelerated to win last start by a widening margin in what was a spectacular final 600m sprint. is obviously very gifted and should get the run of the race here. FUNSTAR resumes and is unbeaten in 2 starts this age group. Much harder here but clearly knows how to win.
This is a terrific field of bush-trained gallopers. ZARDORO will have to go back from this bad draw but is used to that and is in great form. Goes very well this grade in these Highways. BARBASS is smart and resumes here. No doubt punches up and is with leaders all the way. If COUP DE MAIN gets a run, have in your numbers. is smart.
Interesting affair. MISS INVINCIBLE gets the awkward draw but she is just so honest and I love that in a racehorse. Will be running on. Is 3rd up here and goes well at this level. KAWAIKINI, likewise, is in form and tries her heart out. Rattled home to win a slightly easier race last start but that finishing thrust of hers is pretty awesome at times. BARE NAKED LADY is fast and resumes here. Was scratched midweek for this race.
Tip: MISS INVINCIBLE
The former overseas galloper MURILLO might test these. Is 2nd up here after a strong 6th in better grade. Is on home track and trip will suit. His stablemate ALL TOO FREE may pose the biggest opposition. is extremely honest and goes well here plus home track thing etc. MASTER ASH has speed early and while fresh here should be on pace most of the way.
What a race. We have the Group 1 Golden Slipper winner here in KIAMICHI trying to break the Slipper hoodoo and actually win a race post-Slipper. She should spear across and lead but her best form is at Rosehill so may find it tough over the rise. At her best, on this damp track, she would take catching. Then there is the star New Zealand filly PROBABEEL. She resumes here but is probably the Kiwi’s best 3YO filly. And should love the dampness too. Finally, the $1.10 fav in LIBERTINI whose first up win in this grade was sublime. Is on home track too.
Hard race to assess because we have 6 runners, 4 of which like to lead. They say it’s a mini The Everest and that assessment is spot on. REDZEL is generally, historically, superb first up this time of year and is drawn perfectly. But he’s got The Everest fav here in NATURE STRIP to contend with and the multiple Gr 1 mare SUNLIGHT. Saying all that, PIERATA, who will sit back and watch these speedsters duel early, has Gr 1 winning talent too and may swamp them all.
Tough race. Very even field. AVILIUS is the best stayer in the land but can he bring that talent to a middle distance race? I say yes. He has a devastating finish and was flashing home to grab 4th last start when resuming in the unsuitable Gr 1 last start. Extra trip is big help here. SAMADOUBT led all way to win that race in fast time and dashing fashion. Many don’t look upon him as a genuine WFA horse, but now a Gr 1 winner and has similar conditions here – albeit 200m further. Will string them along again. GIRL TUESDAY may have come back a bona fide Gr 1 galloper. Her first-up win was outstanding. Harder here but respect her finish.
TE AKAU SHARK is a Kiwi superstar who was most unlucky when 2nd first up this campaign over there. Has been very heavily backed to win this. KOLDING is a winner. Up in class here and resumes from a spell but knows what to do. Won 5 from 8 last campaign, including 4 on the bounce. ECKSTEIN is enigmatic. Has a powerful burst on her day and with no weight here should flash home late.
Tip: TE AKAU SHARK
SPECIAL MISSILE comes in nicely after the claim. He is 2nd up and when last in work was a star at this level. Drawn to get a great run. SCARLET DREAM is a Gr 1 type stayer. She resumes here and will be last early but can rocket home. ROHERYN was hailed the next big thing yet didn’t finish his race off in slightly weaker grade last start when resuming. Is much better than that and is fitter now.
