We get our first look at this year’s early season 2yo fillies here. FALL ON A STAR is by Zoustar and was an impressive trial winner while EVERY ROSE is another trial winner drawn well. TICKET TO RIDE is one to watch out of the in form Richard Freedman yard. Trialled well and stable is flying. Any betting moves need to be respected.

The unraced boys meet for the first time in another tough race. BEYLIKS, BELIEBER and POSTCODE have all trialled well. The Waller trained GLOBAL QUEST is an interesting runner. The stable doesn’t usually enter into early season 2yo races and this is a strong lead. Monitor betting markets.

An even bunch here featuring all the usual suspects. DEALMAKER looks the one to beat, but has only won once at 17 attempts. GREYSFUL GLAMOUR and PENSKE should set a good temp with the Bjorn Baker pair IRUKANDJI and SHOCK ALERT getting nice runs of the speed. IRUKANDJI was luckless last week and if he can reproduce his form from two starts back he looks the winner.

The Flight Stakes looks a match race between FUNSTAR and PROBABEEL. The pair fought out the finish in the Group 2 Tea Rose last start with FUNSTAR winning narrowly. PROBABEEL will appreciate the step up to a mile while FUNSTAR could easily be undefeated. GIRLS ARE READY is the best of the rest.

A small star-studded field will fight it out in the Group 2 Premiere Stakes. CLASSIQUE LEGEND was impressive first up, chasing home the airborne PIERATA in The Shorts. BRUTAL, the Doncaster winner in the Autumn has a good first-up record and will be finishing strongly. OSBORNE BULLS was unlucky a number of times last campaign in against the very best gallopers and if he is close to his best he wins.

SAMADOUBT is a two-time Group 1 winner this prep and a winner of the Canberra Cup over 2000 metres. VERRY ELLEEGANT is the most talented galloper in the race, but she is still doing plenty wrong in her races and if she can’t settle, the 2000 metres will be tough. This looks an upset race, with YOUNGSTAR, TALLY and OUR CENTURY all searching for form. LIFE LESS ORDINARY with Hugh Bowman aboard looks ready to win after an impressive first-up run and a couple of trials.

The Epsom Handicap, as always has many winning chances. KOLDING carried 57kgs to win the Bill Ritchie last start, and drops to 50.5kg this week with the big race rider Glen Boss to steer. Godolphin pair CASCADIAN and BEST OF DAYS will enjoy the step up to the mile, and NZ star TE AKAU SHARK ran great sectionals when second in the Tramway Stakes. The Team Hawkes trained ROCK, is unbeaten this campaign and couldn’t have been more impressive winning the Cameron Handicap last start. He can finish over the top of his rivals here.

The Waterhouse and Bott duo HUSH WRITER and STAMPEDE will take the up the lead early and if they can get away with cheap sectionals, they will take a lot of catching. With six runners in the race, including the favourite BRIMHAM ROCKS, the Waller stable has a strong hand here. A stable mate of the favourite WU GOK can sit just off the speed and challenge strongly in the straight at nice odds.

Competitive race to finish the day. Looks a battle between the race fit Godolphin pair ROHERYN and BEAU IDEAL and the first up Snowden runners REELEM IN RUBY and SIGNORE FOX. ROHERYN was unlucky last start, while BEAU IDEAL will strip fitter this week. SIGNORE FOX has had three trials in preparation for his first up run but has drawn poorly. REELEM IN RUBY is building an impressive record with a win and two seconds from three first up attempts. She looks the goods.
