Form student, RIC CHAPMAN, previews Saturday’s Morphettville meeting, with horse racing tips & analysis for all eight races on the card, including a Group 1. Good luck, punters!

Rail Position: Out 2m from 1200 to w/p, True, remainder

Track Condition: Soft

Looks a good race. Very competitive. SHE SHAO FLY gets home hard. She wasn’t too far back in the VRC Sires’ this trip and last start made good ground late to place at Group 3 level in Adelaide. Will run on. HINCHPIN has only had 2 starts but was very strong last start in easier race winning, running away. Should get the run of the race. YOU HADME AT HELLO might be special, though. She led all way and kicked on to win her maiden last start by nearly 8 lengths. This is better field but if she’s taken any improvement from that, she can win again.

ARKHAM KNIGHT is 3rd up and in a perfect spot here. Great 3rd last start was a terrific trial for this. POLAR VORTEX has won past 2 and that form is strong for this grade. TAN TAT TRUSTING deserves a breakthrough. Ran 2nd 4 x last campaign and opened campaign this time with a 2nd as well.

When last in work TEQUILA TIME was a dominant 2YO. He won the SA Sires’ for instance and has a 4 wins, 2 placings record from 7 starts. Not started for a year though. VIDUKA has the bad draw so may drop in to find cover but has potential and should be running on. MAGNA BELLA is up a little in grade but is showing good signs and did win impressively in a slightly weaker company last start.

Very even affair this one. GO THE JOURNEY get chance to breakthrough here as form is most consistent. Not won for a while but the 3kg claim puts him right in the mix here. MAZUREK was thrashed when resuming last start. Has the rails draw here, and was a dominant winner when 2nd up last campaign. EASY BEATS is an honest type this grade and should run a place again.

Terrific race, full of twists and turns and possible results. OCEAN WALTZER needed that poor run first up to get right for this. Last campaign was a great success and should be in this finish. TAHNEE TIARA is very honest but has been up a fair while. Continues to hold form and gets a 1.5kg allowance here. Handy 4th this grade at past couple. MISS INDENTIFIED is awkwardly drawn but is also on a streak winning a similar race last start. Chance.

WINNING PARTNER needed that good win at Oakbank last start for his confidence. He had been beaten in stronger company prior few to that. Drawn well and looks well up to this. His stablemate EAST INDIAMAN is in a bad gate but does have a ton of honesty and that should carry him a long way. Never far away in past few starts this grade. SO WE ARE is a nice filly who should appreciate the tempo of this. Was racing well until blot last start in a tougher race. Respect.

CHAPARA is inconsistent but is talented on his day. Has 2 x Gr 1 placings in his own age group in different states on his resume. Only won the once but can stay. The big question is whether MR QUICKIE can run this journey. He’s won 8 of 11 starts and placed 2nd on two other occasions. Last start over 2000m he sat midfield and was simply too good. He might just be a really, really good racehorse who can overcome any staying deficiencies. SAVVY OAK is a good young stayer who will get the run of the race and finish hard while the filly QAFILA can get up on the pace and just keep rolling. Fascinating race this year.

Tip: 1. MR QUICKIE, 2. Savvy Oak, 3. Quafila, 4. Chapada

PARSIFAL looks a good one in the making. Unbeaten in 2 starts this time up after comfortable  BM 70 win at the ‘Bool last start and looks for the picket fence here. STREET LIFE is very consistent and racing in career best form despite being up a long while. Chance. MONTRE is up in grade but is a winner. Can really fight on and deserves to win this company.
