T: James Cummings / J: Hugh Bowman (59kg)
Brilliant galloper on his day with a paralysing finishing burst. Saying that, it appears he hasn’t had his day for a while – not winning at his past eight starts,. But did run 4th last start when coming from last and his final 600m was stunning. Loves this journey and he should be flying home late.
T: John Thompson / J: Nash Rawiller (59kg)
Deserves to be highly fancied. Because he loves this trip, is back in form after winning last start in a similar race, and because he is the only speed. Will lead this on his ear and as he’s on his home track, he will take a power of catching.
T: Chris Waller / J: Tommy Berry (59kg)
Brilliant galloper who looks back to his best following a hard-closing 2nd to Dreamforce last start. Had to work a little harder than usual early stages because he didn’t want the winner to have it all his own way in front. And the tactic nearly worked. He is 3rd up here and the extra 200m will be in his favour.
T: Chris Waller / J: Kerrin McEvoy (59kg)
Extremely competitive on his day and he was brilliantly ridden by Kathy O’Hara last start when beaten a long neck by Verry Elleegant at Gr 1 level last start. So it was a major surprise to see her replaced this week. Anyway, this bloke is clearly back to his very best and he will be raging home late stages.
T: Chris Waller / J: Sam Clipperton (59kg)
Outstanding galloper at this trip who was bean a centimetre at Gr 1 level behind Verry Elleegant after hitting the lead near home. That was first up. Is a very genuine racehorse who goes well this track. Not at his very best 2nd up normally, but may be back better than ever.
T: Chris Waller / J: James McDonald (57kg)
Has burst into the top echelon of star gallopers to ever race in Australia. Has started winning multiple Gr 1 races. Sat three-wide all the way and should have finished 15th last start but instead showed her champion qualities to win the Gr 1 Winx Stakes over 1400m when resuming. Goes even better this journey but some say she isn’t at her best on a Good track. Her record suggests she can handle it.
T: James Cummings / J:Rachel King (56.5kg)
Loomed and looked the winner at the 200m but couldn’t finish it off when resuming this level behind Dreamforce in very fast time. Is better placed at this trip, however. Tough field here but she will be in top three for most of the way. Place show.
