What a great and versatile galloper this old boy is. Runs and places in Melbourne Cups and now is a hope in the Gr 1 Futurity. And he’s a big hope. Goes very well this trip and he was strong in an unsuitable 1200m race when resuming. Should sit back in about 7th to the bend and watch him charge late.

Just a damn professional racehorse with a huge heart. This is probably his pet trip. He is a multiple Gr 1 winner and rarely, if ever, runs a bad race. Draw is awkward so he may have to shuffle back further than he likes but he will be running into it as they turn for home.

He will earn a trip to Dubai if he wins this. And he is very capable of doing that, especially after getting this gate. He has a very good record at this track. Will probably sit up in about 5th on the fence and will be right in the fray here. Was eye-catching when 4th this grade to Manuel last start.

Is brilliant on his day but those days are few and far between of late. Just isn’t racing well enough to trouble this lot. Did make good ground and beaten less than 2 lengths by Manuel this grade last start and is fitter.
T: Peter Gelagotis / J: Ben Melham (59kg)
Former star sprinter who is past his best. Will finish closer to last than first in this terrific field.
T: Justin Warwick / J: Lucy Warwick (59kg)
Star galloper who has form at this level and does know how to hit the line. Wasn’t suited by the slow tempo mid-race and was in awkward position all the way before letting down strongly in the straight when 6th to Manuel in Gr 1 last start. Fitter now and has an imposing record when 2nd up. If he gets cover he can be tough late.
T: Team Snowden/ J: Mark Zahra (59kg)
What do we make of this bloke? Has a new stable now and is just in super touch. Moved right through field failing only to catch Manuel in Gr 1 Orr Stakes this trip last start. That was 2nd start this time up. Racing superbly and looms large again here.
T: James Cummings / J: Craig Williams (59kg)
Last start before a spell he rocketed home from mid-field to win the Gr 1 level 1600m Cantala Stakes. Has won at this trip and went very close to doing that first up last start when beaten less than a length by Manuel in the Gr 1 Orr. Fitter now and has drawn the fence. Looks to have graduated to this company and will be right in this – especially if the pace is really on mid-race.
T: Tony McEvoy / J: Luke Currie (59kg)
Went straight to the lead at big odds this track last start in the Gr 1 Orr Stakes, and just kept finding. Got the prize, but it was a slowly run race in the middle stages. More pressure here but he again looks the leader and history may well repeat itself.
T: Paul Preusker / J: Jordan Childs (59kg)
Old boy in career best form. Is a rising 10YO but is racing like a spring chicken. Resumes here off 3 wins in a row which included two at stakes level including the Gr 2 Feehan last start. Nicely drawn but surely first up at Gr 1 level will find him out.
T: James Cummings / J: Hugh Bowman (57kg)
Is a superstar. Can run brilliantly this level in wet or dry conditions. Ran a stunning 1.08 at Randwick when resumed to win with 60kg then last start just toyed with Le Romain in the Gr 2 Expressway. Has a Gr 1 win over a mile to her credit and just seems to be in career best form. Has won past 3 in devastating fashion. Only really needs luck.
T: Chris Waller / J: John Allen (55.5kg)
He is only a 3YO but is a smart galloper and this looks his ideal trip. Made steady ground late to place at Gr 2 level against his age this trip last start when resuming. This is much harder but has a very powerful finishing burst when on song.
