Palmerbet Racing Team preview Saturday’s meeting at Flemington with horse racing tips & analysis for all nine races on the card. Good luck, punters!

Rail Position: Out 7m, entire circuit
Track Condition: Good 3

A competitive race to start the day at headquarters. SIXTIES GROOVE is proving to be very handy. Query at this trip but he won this grade over 2000m last start, quite easily and he beat subsequent winner Morton’s Fork. Must be considered. MY NORDIC HERO has been up a long time but is a solid, reliable stayer and looks a show while CROCODILE ROCK is a smart stayer and is fresh enough to make a big presence here.

Tip: SIXTIES GROOVE

SUNDAY ESCAPE is going to appreciate this. Was well beaten in WFA race last week after being up on the steel all the way. This is many lengths easier. And shorter! BANDIPUR is down from Sydney with a good sprint record in this grade. Will be coming hard late. INVINCIBLE AL is going for 3 straight here. Slightly harder than recent starts but must be considered.

Tip: SUNDAY ESCAPE

RUBAN BLEU for Team Hayes and Dabernig looks to have a lot of talent. Still a maiden after 3 runs but they have been in good company and he has placed past 2 runs. O’TAUTO will find this much harder than last start when he won on debut in the bush. But my word he made good ground late to do so. SARGEANT showed pace to lead then strength to race away and win bush maiden very easily. Harder here but has claims.

Tip: RUBAN BLEU

CHIAVARI is up a fair way in weight here following a very strong come-from-behind win similar grade last start. Is in form and this track will suit. HARMATTAN resumes here and may sprint well. Looks to be a stayer of the future and is lightly raced. Watch market. BELLARIA has placed 2 of 3 this grade since resuming so is in form and very fit.

Tip: HARMATTAN

Some of these will find the big field daunting. ASTRO CASTRO goes well this track and is the best horse. But he’s in and out with his form. Place show. TAHI is young and on the rise and nicely drawn. Was beaten a head this very grade last start. Interesting to see how GOLD MAG goes. Has won only 2 starts by big margins, sitting back and rushing very hard late. Has talent and is improving.

Tip: GOLD MAG

An open race but KACHING, who is very fit and now in form following a good 3rd this grade last start, looks suited here. Weight relief is a massive help. The Darren Weir pair of THE STATESMAN and HARIPOUR look nicely in this also. They are both racing well enough and suited this journey.

 Tip: HARIPOUR

This could be a thrashing. If HOME OF THE BRAVE brings his A-game and that which he showed in a recent Sydney trial, he is weighted to win this pretty comfortably. That’s despite the star galloper VOODOO LAD being in the field. And he is right back to his best, meaning he will be strong also. They look the quinella. POETIC DREAM, the Group placed German galloper is with Team Hayes and Dabernig, and he has been working very well.

Tip: HOME OF THE BRAVE

ODEON is a little in and out but on his day he is quite capable of winning this. Loves this track. Resumes here and market moves need to be monitored. NIGHT’S WATCH has the makings of a first class stayer. Resumes here in tough race, but has an x-factor and may run home gamely late. COOL CHAP doesn’t win often in fact hasn’t won for a very long time, but is always a threat and competitive this level.

Tip: ODEON

The last of the day is another open race with many winning chances. But saying that this import from Europe EXEMPLAR might be very smart. He’s lightly raced with just 6 starts to his name and only win was at maiden level but he’s competed at Group level too. Watch the betting because they may come for him. AL HARAM has loads of talent but is resuming here while MANTASTIC has been rising through the grades and is in form. Gets needed weight relief too.
