Form analyst, RIC CHAPMAN, previews Saturday’s Flemington meeting, with horse racing tips & analysis for all nine races on the card. Good luck, punters!

Rail Position: Out 10m, entire circuit
Track Condition: Soft 6

Interesting race. We have two bona fide speed stayers in HUSH WRITER and the mare SOPRESSA. Both will go to the front, well, both will try too, which may leave them vulnerable late to SASKO. All are in terrific form and Sopressa looked very strong winning similar race last start at Caulfield. She may take the sit and if so, could be the strongest late.

Tip: SOPRESSA

This bunch of 3YOs looks very strong but again, we have a race with a pair of noted speedsters and this will prove fascinating. SANSOM and ECHO LAD, both of whom are in startling form, like to grind out tough, fast sectionals in front. Echo Lad has 4kg less than the other guy which may be telling. MAOZI likes to run on and should be suited by the track and speed up front. The unbeaten HEIRBORN comes to town for the first time and also runs home hard.

Tip: HEIRBORN

This is a lottery. STYLISH ASSASSIN is in and out but capable on his day and is very fit. LA VOLT gets a welcome 2kg allowance which will help and is racing very well, while JUMBO OZAKI and TALENTED are both very talented and emerging. I say box them all up.

Tip: JUMBO OZAKI

After the 2kg allowance, the super old star JUNGLE EDGE comes into this well. He is racing in tremendous fashion and if left alone in front, should get the trip and prove very hard to catch. KEMONO is a disappointing racehorse at this level. He resumes here and has promised so much but rarely delivered. Perhaps the break has helped him. VINLAND put in a shocker last start but previous form in similar grade was excellent. Place in your numbers.

Tip: JUNGLE EDGE

ROYAL ORDER got a long way back last start this grade over a mile and had to weave between runners late. Wound up 4 lengths from winner in 7th. This track and trip should suit a great deal more. It’s very hard to knock winning form and Sth Aussie CHAROSSA brings that here with wins similar grade at past 2 starts. Horrible draw here but is racing very well. The lightly raced Irish import DABIYR might be worth looking at. He stormed home to win an easier race last start in midweek Sandown grade. Looks like a quality stayer in the making.

Tip: DABIYR

This should be too short for THE INEVITABLE but he is a very exciting young racehorse and no doubt earns a Black Book mark when he finishes right with them.  Might be special. WAGNER is a solid campaigner this grade and is very fit. Will sit off them and charge late. For this race though, ASSERTIVE APPROACH might be the play. He has enormous early and mid-race speed and is unbeaten in 3 starts to date including Listed level race in SA last run.

Tip: ASSERTIVE APPROACH

Strong field for this grade. SHOKORA has found her best form and looked good winning similar race last start. Gets a 1.5kg weight allowance here too. POP QUEEN is very honest and tough at this level but has been up a while. Gets a 3kg weight allowance which helps while MY PENDANT was a star last campaign and may return one here too following her great 2nd to the extra smart Sylvia’s Mother here when resuming.

Tip: MY PENDANT

MALIBU STYLE is a recent winner this track and grade after difficulties and is all class. Big show. It has been a long time since OOHOOD showed worthwhile form but if that happens here, is a player. Watch market. ANTAH resumes in this following a great run through the grades last campaign. Have in your numbers.

Tip: MALIBU STYLE

Smart emerging stayer DR DRILL went to Sydney last start and carried weight to win at Randwick in slightly weaker grade, but won with authority. Has also won at this track and despite big weight here, is in fine form and gets up on speed. Big player. MASTER SHUHOOD has wheels and hits the line hard, is 2nd up following a great 3rd this grade when resuming. Fitter and a player in this. Harder here for last start winner BALLET MASTER but the win was solid. Can place.

Tip: DR DRILL
