Form analyst, SCOTT MCDONELL, previews Saturday’s Caulfield meeting, with horse racing tips and analysis for all 9 races. Good luck, punters!

Track Condition: Soft 5

Rail Position: +12m entire circuit

Hard not to be impressed with the win of GENERATION in Adelaide on debut. He jumped to the front and gave nothing else a chance. Only needs to produce that form to win again.

SPINNING chased home hard but could not run the smart Gimme Par down over final stages. Sure to be better from that race experience and gets chance to go one better.

FOREVER AND A DAY was well supported at Geelong on debut and did not let supporters down with a tough all the way win. He can measure up to city class.

LAFARGUE is a son of Capitalist making his debut for the Danny O’Brien stable. Sure to be well educated and would keep close eye on market moves.

Tip: GENERATION

This looks right race for EXCELMAN to return to the winners stall. He has been placed in three of four starts this time in and most recent beaten less than a length. Drawn perfectly and Jamie Kah aboard he will get his chance.

CRIMSON ACE powered home and just missed at Cranbourne last start. She should get ideal run from her gate and will get chance at some stage in straight.

Liked the way SKELM finished the race off here last start when ran into a plate placing. He will be giving them a start from the corner but has big finish and will be hitting line hard.

PORTLAND JIMMY won at Kerang fresh then went to Flemington and ran a slashing race chasing home into minor placing. Third-up from spell and only needs to hold that form to be right in the mix.

Tip: EXCELMAN

Going to have something each way on LUNAR FLARE first-up from spell. She will be much better when she gets over further but looking for her to run a cheeky race fresh.

INTELLECTIVE was beaten less than 2 lengths at The Valley two starts back then chased home steadily at Hillside last outing. Drawn to get perfect run and she is a major player.

MISS DAMITA is another first-up. Warrnambool winner three starts back and she has not been that bad in a couple of city outings. Placed four of five first-up and she cannot be left out.

RUBY SKYE finished just out of the placings at Flemington last start. She will get all the favours here and will get chance at some stage in the straight.

Tip: LUNAR FLARE

PROMOTIONS is first-up from spell. He has been placed in three of four fresh runs and from his inside gate expect he will get perfect sit and has chance from the corner.

ALBURQ has been a model of consistency but just finding it hard to win. Liked the way he got to the line when just out of placings last start and that form good enough for this.

PLATINI was placed at Lakeside two starts back then beaten less than a length here last start. Finds similar race and cannot leave him out of place chances.

MRS BECKHAM resumes. Stable thought enough of her to race in Group 3 company last time in work and if she is forward enough will be a factor fresh.

Tip: PROMOTIONS

MR EXCLUSIVE drove hard and got up in last stride here last start. Thought he looked nice odds compared to the favourite and might have something the win and more the place on him in this.

HOLBEIN looks the winner after a string of placings in some nice races but that is the problem he is just finding it hard to win. Not sure I want to take him at the short odds but he does look the winner.

LEGIONNAIRE was beaten less than a length in same race as Mr Exclusive here last start. He should control this from the front and if he gets a cheap sectional will take catching.

ALL TOO HUIYING should be ready to find best form after three runs back. Less than 2 lengths off winner here two starts back and that form should stand up in this.

Tip: MR EXCLUSIVE

TITAN BLINDERS resumes from spell. Been placed in four of his five first-up tries and has the natural speed to drive through and lead these. He will be the one to run down from the corner.

BLAZEJOWSKI is another first-up. He won in Listed company this track two starts back and three wins from five first-up starts suggest he will go very close in this.

ASHLOR is another who can find his best form when fresh. Won three of his six starts when first-up and in what is an even race cannot leave out of chances.

I AM SOMEONE did not flatter in only two runs last time in work but he is better than that and would not be surprised to see him right in the mix.

Tip: TITAN BLINDERS

Really like REDWOOD SHADOW third-up from spell. Just left his run a touch too late at Flemington when powered home from the back and ran into placing. Out to the 2000m and very confident he will be right in the mix.

HORRIFYING beat Redwood Shadow home at Flemington and came from the same position back last. The only query I have with him is the 2000m for the first time but he is definite winning chance.

WISAKA was dominant in maiden company at Bendigo two starts back then went to Flemington and just held ground final stages. Third-up and he can bounce back in this.

REUBER sustained at long run over the 2400m here last start and ran into a minor placing. Back in distance but he is tough and cannot dismiss.

Tip: REDWOOD SHADOW

MOZZIE MONSTER deserves a win this time in. Placed at Bendigo two back then chased home Annavisto here last start. Barrier is a concern but she is overdue for a win.

REAL SENSATION ran on strongly to win at Flemington last start. He gets out to the 1600m which should be ideal and no reason he cannot win again.

Did not mind the way JAFFASTOCK finished the race off first-up at Geelong. Drawn to get the ideal run in transit and no reason will not feature again.

Tip: MOZZIE MONSTER

Exciting to have AYRTON back from spell. Made big impression winning both starts and first prep and won them in a canter. He looks above average and can keep his unbeaten record in tact.

WINSUM has the advantage of race fitness and he has not been beaten all that far in town since winning first-up. Drawn bit awkwardly but must respect.

THE BIG EASY has been placed in four of his last five starts. Looked touch unlucky not to have won here last start when held-up late. Drawn perfectly and he should get his chance.

SHELBY COBRA was only getting warm when the race was all over first-up. Sure to be better from the run and would ignore wide gate as he will go back anyway. Watch for him late.

Tip: AYRTON
