Form analyst, SCOTT MCDONELL, previews Saturday’s Caulfield meeting, with horse racing tips and analysis for all 9 races. Good luck, punters!

Track Condition: Good 4

Rail Position: True entire circuit

Going to stick with FANCIFUL TOFF. Should have won at The Valley two starts back then went to Bendigo and made amends running away final stages to win as he liked. Sure to be right in the mix again.

JOHANDOUGH is moving through her classes impressively winning last couple with relative ease. Does step up into harder race but she can measure up.

MAHAMEDEIS was enormous when placed in the Group 3 Easter Cup here last start. That form superior to most of these and would not be surprised to see him return to winners stall.

TARN’S PRINCE had excuses when pulled up with irregular heart rhythm at Lakeside last start. Took on Group 3 company in Adelaide two starts back. He can bounce back in this.

Like one at a bit of odds in this in MY GOLD BRACELET. She was placed this track when first-up last time in work before taking on some hot races in the spring. Made little impression first-up in Sydney but would be looking for improved effort in this. Go each way.

CADRE DU NOIR resumes. Yet to miss a place in any of his four first-up tries. Rarely runs a bad race and another that can sneak into a place fresh.

VUNGERS was always going to find them too slick at Bendigo first-up from spell. Gets out in distance which will suit and from ideal barrier he gets his chance.

WITCHFULTHINKING led them up for a long way at Hillside last start and was only claimed final stages. She should control this from the front and takes catching from the corner.

Liked the way MISS INBETWEEN finished the race off to win at Hillside last start. Drawn to get the perfect run from her inside gate and she should get last crack at leaders.

RIPPER RITA won her maiden with ease at Pakenham two starts back then chased home steadily when placed here last start. Drawn touch awkwardly but third-up and cannot leave out.

BLACK PENN looked smart winning Pakenham maiden first-up this prep then was placed in Mornington Guineas at next start. Bit disappointing here last start when favourite. Can bounce back.

BEAU ROSSA gave them a galloping lesson at Hillside last start winning by 7 lengths. No reason cannot make it three straight but just like a couple at odds to beat him.

MR QUICKIE came from well back for impressive G3 Victoria Handicap here last start. Quality gelding and out to his favourite distance. He can win again.

SHANDY finished too well to win first-up at Lakeside then she was luckless here last start when favourite. This a tougher affair but she can measure up.

SO SI BON will be the crowd fvourite. Listed winner at Flemington two starts back then just did not finish race off in Sydney last start.

CREEDENCE resumes from spell. Yet to be placed in any of his four first-up tries and although will need much further than this he can run a cheeky race at the 1600m.

Going to have something each way on VOWMASTER. Not beaten all that far here last start when making good late ground. Should get ideal run from barrier draw and he can figure.

LA MEXICANA won first two this prep around this circuit then she went to Sydney but could not measure up to Group 1 company. Back in right race and drawn perfectly.

VALAQUENTA looked luckless here last start when he was held-up for much of the straight before making late ground. Threatening and a must for multiples.

SHELBY COBRA resumes. Only the one poor run at first prep and that was before break at Ballarat when he may have had enough. He is a Listed winner and must be respected.

ARCADED comes back to Melbourne after winning at Group 3 level up in Sydney. Won a G2 Blue Diamond Prelude this track three starts back. Class filly and although drawn wide happy to put her on top.

SLIDERS comes into this ready third-up from spell. Beaten less than 2 lengths fresh in the G2 Reisling then battled on well enough here last outing. Drawn the rails and she will be in the mix.

STARRY LEGEND looks a smart colt from the John Sadler stable. Been dominant in both his wins and he can measure up to this class.

MATAO MA was in the market on debut at Bendigo but had little luck when always wide. Gets on home track and looking for him to show improvement.

Back to the 1100m the vital component for ANCESTRY. Started favourite in a G1 Oakleigh Plate three starts back but just went too hard. Looking for him to cross and lead and if he can settle will look winner at some stage in straight.

ALFA ORO was short here first-up but just could not finish race off well enough last 200m. Strips fitter second-up from spell and he is class sprinter and will be in finish again.

LYRE will appreciate the speed up front and she will sit back in second half. If leaders stop last 200m she will be the one to watch for.

HUMMA HUMMA comes into this ready third-up from spell. Like the way she has been finishing off her races in both runs back and she is another that will be hitting the line hard.

PAUL’S REGRET is such an honest filly. She started this prep with a couple of impressive wins then been competitive in two Group 3 runs since. She will give them a start but has big finish and she goes on top at each way value.

West Australian trained LAVERROD impressed with a strong finishing burst to win the Listed Hareeba Stakes last start. Rarely runs a bad race and he can win again.

HOW WOMANTIC chased home Laverrod at Mornington last start. Drawn to get the perfect run in transit and she should get her chance last 200m.

STREET ICON is ready to win this time in. Placed in three of four starts this time in and only poor run was around The Valley that did not suit her. She will be running on.

LUNAKORN chased home strongly when placed in Group 3 company here first-up then just got too far back and was flat at Flemington. Looking for her to bounce back in this.

MAMZELLE TESS has not shown all that much in her three runs back from spell but they have all been in Group races. Like her back in class and expect improvement.

I AM ELOQUENT had no luck when always wide in Group 3 company in Sydney first-up. Better from that outing and will find this an easier assignment.

SHAHZADE resumes. Just missed at Pakenham first-up last time in work before making late ground at Flemington. Drawn out in the car park but she has the ability to be right in the mix.
