Form analyst, SCOTT MCDONELL, previews Saturday’s Ascot meeting, with horse racing tips and analysis for all 9 races. Good luck, punters!

Track Condition: Good 4

Rail Position: Out 5m entire circuit

Tough little race to start the program but looking at getting each odds about XAN BIO. Two wins from her last three starts both at Northam. Drawn little awkwardly but cannot dismiss.

ARAGAIN chased home Bonneville Black two starts back before battling last start. She has drawn ideally and if she can find best form would go close in this.

WITHOUT REASON is a model of consistency. Belmont winner three back then has followed up with two sound placings. He will not be far off these.

SUGAR CAIN was doing her best work late last start without threatening. If the pace in on up front watch for her late.

Tip: XAN BIO

REWRITE THE STARS is the big query resuming from a spell. Placed at Belmont behind Showmanship and Sir Mambo first-up last time in work and that form would win this.

IGARASHI won her maiden fresh then backed that up with solid placing last start. Third-up from spell and she can progress to this level.

I’M PRETTY resumes from a spell. She has been placed in two of her three first-up tries and recent trial should have her forward enough for this.

NATIVE CHIMES can mix her form a touch but she did put together two straight wins at Belmont and if she found that form would be competitive in this.

Tip: REWRITE THE STARS

SECRET PLAN created a big impression when he powered home to win on debut. Given a freshen-up since and expect he will be too good for these.

SHE’S GOD TO YOU should not take long to break her maiden status this time in work. Placed in both runs first prep and she will go close in this.

FRIDAY KNIGHT started short favourite at Belmont last start but only got going late. Will progress from that outing and would not be surprised to see her win this.

KISSONALLFORCHEEKS resumes. Looked smart winning two of her three starts at first campaign. Expect her to be in finish.

Tip: SECRET PLAN

NOTORIOUS ONE is a promising gelding still learning the caper but look to have plenty of raw talent. He can make it three straight.

ARNIE’S BOY was tough when kept coming to win two starts back then started favourite at Northam and was beaten less than 2 lengths.

PLAYING MARIKA finished too well winning two back then only battled when favourite last start. She will be competitive for a long way.

DECEPTION GAME has won two of his last three starts. Gutsy gelding who when never stop coming and must respect in this.

Tip: NOTORIOUS ONE

Another tricky race to assess. Might have a play on PRECAUTIONARY who controlled the race from the front when winning last start. Drawn to lead again and she will take some catching from the corner.

HEAVEN’S GIFT resumes. Won her first two starts at first prep then was placed in Listed company next couple of runs. Better over further but class will take her a long way.

INDIGO BLUE finished too well winning two back then beaten less than a length at Kalgoorlie. She will be right in this.

LUCKY LINDA LULU is always close up in her races. Drawn to sit in behind a hot speed and she should get her chance last 200m.

Tip: PRECAUTIONARY

NICCOVI resumes. Went to Melbourne last prep and was placed in Group 3 company at Flemington. Solid trial leading into this and may just be too classy.

BATTLE STORM is the big query resuming from spell. Went to Melbourne for one run last start and run better than finishing position suggests. He will be right in this.

CONDOR HEROES looked like he would benefit from the run after leading first-up. Sure to be better from the run and he demolished them here second-up last prep.

ELITE STREET won his last three starts last time in work in some nice races. Cannot leave him out of chances.

Tip: NICCOVI

INDIAN PACIFIC is a class gelding resuming from a spell. Won both first-up tries and expect he will be in this for a long way.

Liked the way STAGEMAN accelerated when the gap came first-up. Sure to be better from the outing and has advantage of race fitness on a few of these.

LAVERROD is another smart gelding resuming from a spell. Yet to miss a place in any of his three first-up tries and from ideal barrier he should get his chance.

VALOUR ROAD resumes. Won three of his five starts first-up from spell. Looked good in recent trial win and cannot leave out.

Tip: INDIAN PACIFIC

RED CAN MAN loomed up to win at Belmont first-up from spell but run just peaked final stages. Sure to be better from that outing and despite wide gate going to have something each way.

MONEY MATTERS is racing in super form. Won four of his last five and placed in the other. Barrier a concern but cannot leave out.

KAY CEE is such a class mare returning to the racetrack. Two Listed wins from two starts last time in work and class will take her a long way.

MASSIMO is a tough gelding who just keeps winning. Meeting a lot of runners resuming and he has the advantage of race toughness.

Tip: RED CAN MAN

POSITION OF POWER was well supported at Belmont last start but after racing on the speed was first beaten. Previous form good enough for this and from ideal barrier looks well placed.

STRIKE FORCE was placed at Belmont two starts back then not beaten all that far last start behind Money Matters. He can sneak into a place.

TOLLMAN resumes. Won fresh last time in work and although drawn little awkwardly has the class to be in finish.

MYSTERY MISS is another resuming from a spell. She has won fresh and from nice barrier she should get her chance.
