Form analyst, RIC CHAPMAN, looks at Friday night’s  Moonee Valley meeting, with horse racing tips & analysis for all eight races on the card. Good luck, punters!

Track Condition: Good 4

Rail Position: Out 3m, entire circuit

MASSEUSE is one of that powerful Ciaron Maher and David Eustace 2YO stable that seems to win everything. She has not raced and has been heavily supported overnight. Respect that. PLUCKY PIROUETTE is probably rising in grade here but she ran a corker of a race on debut when 2nd. TATEYAMA is also unraced but the reports are she has a lot of speed. Watch the market.

Such a tough race to work out. STANNERY should improve on his 6th in this grade on debut. Did show something and although this is harder he has drawn well and there has been some useful each ways bets placed. ALCIDES has raced twice and on both occasions has run 3rd – both times at this level. Ollie rides and he has the good draw. Chance. HOLSTER looks the main play, however. He caught the eye when runner-up in town last start this grade. And his terrific draw tonight should be a big help.

CASSIUS has the good draw, has the best form and is very honest. Gets in with a 2kg claim too. Big show. This is a drop in class from solid 4th last start. His stablemate, the lightly-raced FIELD OF LIGHTS might be in the fray too. This is harder than the field he beat last start but is progressive.  LEALE was average until she won her mdn, then franked it with a powerful win this class last start at Werribee. May pay to have in your numbers. Fitter now.

Because he’s very fit now and drawn deep you’d expect JUST A JOKE to charge out of the gates and find the fence in front. Has won past two and looks to be getting better with racing. VALLAURIS is a Godolphin runner and won his mdn last start rather stylishly. Up in class but looks like an improver. DUNS ‘N’ ROSES hasn’t won for a while but last start 5th here at BM70 level was solid. Big show also.

This is a rather large step up for EPIC GREY but he is racing very impressively of late. Gets a 2kg claim here following his game win in a BM 70 last start. Drawn to run well. DIRTY WORK down the bottom is up in grade and drawn off the course, oh and is resuming. But he has plenty of speed. KINGS OF LEON has finishing power at this level. Resumes here but has talent.

Old YOGI ran home resolutely from the back last start over 2000m when resuming. He is dour stayer and has a touch of class when on song. Big weight here but too good not to have in your numbers. VAUCLUSE BAY has found a new lease on life since moving to Melbourne. Has led all way to win his past 2 starts and has the great front-running rider Linda Meech on top here. DABIYR is smart on his day. Only plodded home when 5th last start in Sydney but track didn’t suit those who finish on. Worth another chance. Great gate, top rider and won start prior.

The 3kg claim will help SOUTHERN TURF here. He has the good draw and recent form is good enough to win this. DIVINE MR TYCOON is dropping in grade following a game 4th in a BM 78 last start at Flemington. Will be hard to beat. ZOUMANOR is extra smart and at this level he looks deliciously placed. Rocketed home to just fail this grade last start. Big danger.

Scratchings have made this an average race. MELLORS off the inside draw must rate a strong chance as form of late has been very good. MIRIMAR probably gets back early but being fresh may sprint hard late. POLANCO is honest and is always a threat at this level.
