COD BYE is on debut here. She has drawn the extreme outside. She’s up against a few recent placegetters in this grade. She’s never been to Taree and has no trials this year. But I’m tipping her to finish hard and win this. Providing she gets fair running. I’m tipping her because when she did trial, in September last year, she ran 5th but was jog-trotting behind those in front of her and the form from the trial has been solid. Obviously, THE NEON KNIGHT is the one to beat on recent terrific form.
Tip: COD BYE
The heavy track here sways me to CHAP’S DREAM. She is racing in career-best form and has found a real new lease on life since being sold and transferred to MitchBeer’s yard. After an easy low key men win, she claimed a Cl 1 and last start up to BM 66, and a strong Bm 66 at that, she battled away looking the winner hall;f way down the straight before winding up a courageous 3rd. Back in class to Bm 58 level and gets a 3kg claim. Looks hard to beat as she has heavy track form too. FALLING WATERS is very fit and consistent at this level. They are my quinella.

I really like the top weight in this, FIRST TIME LUCKY. I’ve always been a fan of horses dropping back in class and he has had two runs this time, up, albeit unplaced efforts, but they have been in stronger graded races. He has drawn poorly but does like to sit off the speed normally. So I suspect he eases back to find a spot with cover, one off the rails in about 6th. He has good wet track stats and can run on. SALTY RAIN is due a win so runs a place too.
