Form analyst, RIC CHAPMAN, looks at today’s race meetings and singles out his top three horse racing tips from Goulburn on  Armidale. Good luck, punters!

What a day to be on course working a race meeting. Should be 38 at Armidale today. And as such it probably suits those lead. Back markers don’t like chasing from a mile back when it is scorching hot. So I’m on INTERCEPT here. He will lead. The trip is his worry but at least he’s very fit and honest and likes to be on speed. From this gate he should cross to the front. I like the maiden SO COMMANDING to run hard at big odds to grab 2nd.  That will do me.

Good competitive race. I like LIBERTY HEAD. He’s a former Godolphin runner who has found a remarkable new lease of life under new trainer Peter Sinclair. Last start he stormed home to grab 2nd beaten a nose, this grade over 1200m when resuming, and meets the winner POMME LA BELLE a kilo better. She’s drawn the car park while this bloke gets the box seat along the fence. If he gets out in time will rush home hard late.

I think this VIVENZO will lead all the way. I have nothing to support that theory other than if I owned him, I’d send him to the front and run them into the ground. He has raced just once when 4th in this grade at Nowra. He was in the back half of the field that day and made steady ground late over 1100m. Drawn closer to the rails this time, up to a trip where he can use his strength and the tempo will suit more, he just looks a prime candidate to lead and ergo, a great bet.
