Our top form analyst, RIC CHAPMAN, looks at today’s race meetings and singles out his top three horse racing tips from Quirindi this afternoon.
This is a race worth watching. Cameron Crockett produces a potentially very smart one here for a first race killing. His name is SALIRE and he absolutely jogged through his trial yet still won. He looks fast and off this good draw could, following trial evidence, Speer through and lead these or just sit back, in about 3rd spot, smoking his pipe and rush late. Always a big ask on debut but he looks to have gears. KENNYWYN has the goods to win so to answer the question in his name, yes. BUT…he’s had many tries and doesn’t get the job done so may be a herd horse. Quinella them though.
Not an easy BM 58 to assess because every horse is either out of form, or in an unsuitable trip or up in class. So I will go with momentum and tip VERTICAL here. He is rising a fair way in grade having landed last start a BM 50 at aa non-Tab meeting. So that form is questionable. What isn’t, however is that he was 2nd up, with a new trainer and came from the clouds to win over 900m running away. In doing so he roared past one that came out in a stronger race than this and was 2nd. So there is a bit of depth to his form of late.
If you can find it in your heart to look past her most recent start, than OWHATA CRUMPET can win this. Keep in mind that run, when an average 7th this grade, was 2nd up so the syndrome may have played its part. I see her back in the ruck, about 8th to the bend then coming with giant strides down past the tiring leaders to win. To me, this odds on pop EXCELNESS looks very vulnerable.
