Palmerbet Racing Team is saddling up for a wonderful day of Group 1 racing at Flemington. Read on to see our horse racing tips for the first four, plus our detailed analysis of each runner!

1. HAPPY CLAPPER (12) 262x1213x7

T: Pat Webster / J: Mark Zahra (59kg)

Top class racehorse, almost a champion. If Winx hadn’t been in same era he nearly would have been. Looked a little fat and struggled late when blow torch was applied when resuming Group 1 last start. Fitter now and loves this track.

2. BLACK HEART BART (11)  323529×496

T: Darren Weir / J: Brad Rawiller (59kg)

Grand old stager but sadly, not the horse he was. Will be thereabouts, probably in top 4 most of the way. But place hopes appear best.

3. HUMIDOR (1) 20x4184x81

T: Darren Weir / J: Damian Lane (59kg)

What a racehorse. We all know he has gone the closest to knocking off the wonder mare and he has continued to show how good he is, last start being a great example. Sat well back, when 2nd up, and came with a devastating finish to win this grade beating Kementari. Loves this trip and also this track. Big show.

4. TOSEN BASIL (2) 8x72x3x56x

T: Darren Weir / J: Jordan Childs (59kg)

Top class, world class stayer from Japan. This is his debut Aussie run and it is a bit short, but he is so talented and should be running on.

5.  JON SNOW (4) 11x68139x4

T: Murry Baker and Andrew Forsman / J: Stevey Baster (59kg)

New Zealand star who is a Group 1 winner. Sat well back and ran on well when resuming at Group 1 level over 1400m last start in his homeland when 4th. This is much harder but he has talent and could place at good odds.

6. COMIN’ THROUGH (5) 0x312561x1

T: Chris Waller / J: Michael Walker (59kg)

He is just so tough. He has shown he can run with any horse, except Winx, in the land. Looked great winning first up and is a Group 1 winner. Will be right there on pace all the way.

7. POUNAMU (3) 6112x332x7

T: James Cummings / J: Brett Prebble (59kg)

West Australian WFA star who has talent. Big grey horse, but is 2nd up and in reality, is a solid Group 2 horse so may struggle to run a few of these down late.

8. HARLEM (7)  67x28167x0

T: Team Hayes and Dabernig / J: Regan Bayliss (59kg)

Form is poor, way below this grade, yet, and here’s the strange thing – when he last raced at Flemington, he won the Group 1 Australian Cup in super fast time over 2000m. We have no idea what he does here.

9. THE TAJ MAHAL (9)  925041x8x7

T: Liam Howley / J: Ben Melham (59kg)

Classy galloper with a strong finish but is only a handicapper. Will struggle in this.

10. KINGS WILL DREAM (10) 1x11111x43

T: Darren Weir / J: Jon Allen (59kg)

This is an absolute superstar in waiting. He has so much talent and so much stamina and this looks a perfect race for him to win his first Group 1 race. He will be well back most of the way, but the long straight will suit him down to the ground and he will sprout wings late. He is 3rd up here and just looks such a good bet.

11. KEMENTARI (8) x11130x242

T: James Cummings / J: Craig Williams (58.5kg)

Is the bona fide star of his age group. Is a Group 1 winner and last start was a courageous 2nd at this level to Humidor after being wide most of the way. It was a run of a classy WFA galloper. Won his Group 1 this trip and will be strong late.

12. GRUNT  (6) 3x1111x58

T: Mick Price / J: Damien Oliver (58.5kg)

Needs to lift on poor effort last start this grade when 2nd up. He was 8th when ridden a bit too far forward. Is better than that, in fact might be a real star. Watch market.

Tip: 1. KINGS WILL DREAM, 2. Kementari, 3. Humidor, 4. Happy Clapper
