Form analyst, RIC CHAPMAN, looks at today’s meetings and singles out his top three horse racing tips from Penola & Mudgee. Good luck, punters!
Penola R2 – Mdn Plate 1400m
Do you think horses know a few things? For instance, this mare PELADERA ran 7th in October. She improved that to 5th at her next start and last start came with a wet sail to just miss in this grade and at this track when 3rd. See the progression? Well, if she continues that same improvement curve, she wins today. I’m betting on it.
Tip: PELADERA
Mudgee R6 – BM66 Hcp 1400m
I have a healthy respect for NOEL’S GIFT in this. I think he bounces back and runs his best race in three years as lost of things indicate today is the day. He is currently a $16 chance. But I also believe the Newcastle visitor GREENSKEEPER might be city Highway grade horse. He is weighted perfectly, has drawn to sit with cover in the one, one behind a solid pace and he is 3rd up. He won his mdn in Oct of 2019 and looked very smart. Then went for a spell and didn’t race again until Oct 2020, where he resumed and won brilliantly. Quinella them up for a great result.
Tip: GREENSKEEPER
Mudgee R8 – BM58 Hcp 1200m
What a strong BM 58. I bet we have many in this who will be on paths for Country Championship honours. We see the rivalry of the smart OLD HARBOUR and BLACKADDER rekindled here. They fought out a beauty at level weights recently with Old Harbour narrowly prevailing. He meets the other bloke 1.5kg better for that win but he has a 3kg apprentice on top this time and an outside draw. So to me, that puts the nod on Blackadder who steps from gate 2. Interesting to see if the former very promising EXPELLABLE is over whatever took his form away before a spell. Did win a trial recently.
