Form analyst, SCOTT MCDONELL, previews Saturday’s meetings, with horse racing tips and analysis for the five best bets of the weekend. Good luck, punters!
Flemington Race 6 – BM84 Handicap 1800m
14:45 (local time)
ALTIVO looks the hardest to beat in this event after his impressive last start win here over 1600m and the progression to 1800m third-up, looks perfect for this boy.
Racing like a true stayer in the making and should be able to keep his unbeaten record intact.
Tip: ALTIVO
Morphettville Race 5 – R.A.Lee Stakes (Group 3) 1600m
13:52 (local time)
FOXY FRIDA appears to be the one they will have to beat in this stakes race. Only went down narrowly last time out in the G2 Queen Of The South behind Caste and that form looks to be superior to the opposition she meets here.
Watch for her to be hitting line hard.
Tip: FOXY FRIDA
Morphettville Race 8 – The Goodwood (Group 1) 1200m
15:47 (local time)
Really like LOFTY STRIKE in this Group 1 affair. Generally the pace is always on in this race and with a few tearaways in the field, I can see Lofty and Jamie Mott sitting back, waiting for the last crack at them.
He is coming off classic form lines and appears the one they will have to hold off at the finish.
Tip: LOFTY STRIKE
Doomben Race 8 – BRC Sprint (Group 3) 1350m
15:57 (local time)
Certainly looks to be ZAAKI’s Doomben Cup to lose. He did all the work last time out and was there to be beaten in the run to the wire but class got him over the line. He is 3rd up now and should be even fitter for this assignment.
Has to be the one to beat.
Tip: ZAAKI
Belmont Race 5 – Rating 72+ Handicap 1000m
12:29 (local time)
Looking for some value here at Belmont Park with SNEAKY CHANCE. I think he has more than just a sneaky hope as she is a second up winner previously and worked home nicely first-up. Has won 2nd up previously and meets a similar field again.
Could be the one getting over them late.
