Best Bets – Wed 18th October

Vinery Stud BM 72 Hcp

Kensington Race 1 (1550m) 1:55 pm

This filly HARLOW MIST is unbeaten in 3 starts, both in NSW and in Victoria. She has enough speed to kick up from this alley and winning form is always the best form to bring into midweek races. This is her home track too and she appeals to me as a great each way bet. CITY OF LIGHTS can run on into 2nd.

Schweppes 3YO Hcp

Kensington Race 3 (1400m) 3:05 pm

I suspect the money will come for McHALE in sufficient portions to push RHYTHM OF LOVE out to evens or better. If so, get on. Rhythm Of Love stormed home last start to just fail in a BM 72 which is a few lengths harder than this. Is trained here and looks the winner.

James Squire BM72 Hcp

Kensington Race 4 (1550m) 3:40 pm

There is something incredibly hard to do – and that’s to run down a in form front-runner. We have that here in IKNOWASTAR who won the recent Dubbo Cup over a mile in fast time then ran scintillating time over 1400m here with 58kg. Lot more weight here but is flying.

The Agency BM 72 Hcp

Kensington Race 6 (1300m) 4:55 pm

I like the look of how this race will unfold. VINNIE’S SPIRIT, up in grade on his own track will dart to the front and DREAM HOUR should be able to sit off the speed in about 3rd spot. He resumes here and has great first-up stats so expect him to mow the leader down. That’s the quinella play also.

Marshall Trophy BM84

Caulfield Race 8 (1440m) 5:45 pm

Last prep MAOTAI was running against better rivals and running well. He is 3rd up here after what must be said, 2 average runs, but I suspect he is ready finish like a train today and catch FARETTI who looks to lead all the way. Great each way bet and quinella.
