Mdn F&M Plate
Interesting affair with what seems a fair bit of early speed and a few backmarkers who have shown they can rally. I like DOMINETTA off the inside gate. She will go hard and after 3 trials this time up I suspect she is rock hard and will lead these all a merry dance right down to the wire. SILVER WEDDING for the quinella play.
Prague BM 68
The way SPIRIT OF WEALTH landed easily on the outside of the lead then pricked her ears as she raced away with 200m to go on debut, suggests she is very smart. This is harder but you would have to think she has improved off that first start. Might not be on the speed this time but she can sprint late. Gai’s Artist is my 2nd pick.
Casino Prince BM 72
I just love the way this race sets up for AHURIRI. She is one of those rare died-in-the-wool stayers who just loves to run and can do so all day. Today, she is 2nd up after a great 1400m run. Will probably get back worse than midfield but when Jay Mac asks her to go, she will be full of running. I can’t wait to back her. An interesting runner is the Irish stayer Alalcance here with Gai and Adrian. Watch for market moves.
Pinatubo BM 72
SWEYSIVE is in peek form and has been runner-up in this grade at his past two starts. Comes back to his home track today and has drawn perfectly. Looks a safe bet for mine.
Eureka Stud BM 68
It has been a long while since PENTITO won a race and it’s also been a good while since he was down in this grade. He is 3rd up today over a trip that suits and at good each-way odds I think he can run over them. He has won at this track and distance.
