Squire BM 68

Kensington Race 3 (1300m) 1:25 pm

Interesting race, in fact one of the most anticipated of the day. There are 7 runners, with 3 of them unbeaten thus far. I’m on one of the unbeaten brigade in FRANZ JOSEF. He’s raced twice at the provincials and won them both thus earning his huge weight. But, he is big, striking, handsome, lanky and can run very fast. His recent trial win was impressive.

Ole Kirk BM 72

Kensington Race 5 (1250m) 2:35 pm

Pretty keen on the toppie in this NINGALOO STAR. She sat 4-wide for most of the trip last start when resuming in this grade yet made a dash as they turned and just about hit the front. Ran out of gas the final 75m and finished 4th. the winner is smart and I suspect with that run under her belt here on her home track she sits about 6th with cover to the bend then unleashes late.

BM 64

Kensington Race 7 (1800m) 3:45 pm

I think later this afternoon connections of this 3YO filly BESTOWER might have a drink and decide to send her to Brisbane for the Gr 1 Oaks. So today is a stepping stone and I think she is special, so probably wins comfortably.

Ipswich race 7 (1350m) 4:03 pm

It took a few runs for JONNY DA WOLF to get used to the Chris waller way of training, but last start he showed he had with a truly dominant maiden win here on a heavy track. This is harder and there has been a lot of money for the smart ANEMACORE who has been placed in much stronger races that this at his past 2 runs, but I think Jonny is really progressive. Quinella them.

Schweppes Class 5

Ipswich Race 8 (1200m) 4:38 pm

I’m following hoops here. Jag Guthmann-Chester rides both JOVITA and AIR MARSHAL and he has chosen to steer Air marshal despite being first up in this. Nice barrier trial. The other mare was a solid 4th this grade when resuming. I’ll quinella them.
