Best Bets – Wednesday 8th May

Golden mile 3YO

Warwick farm race 2 (1300m) 1:25 pm

This track will get extremely cut up during the day as the rain has been going for a while and will again during the day. So get in early I say. I’m on the improving SHAMROCK SALLY who was a fine 2nd in similar grade over 1000m at Kembla when resuming last start. Is with Les bridge and is getting fitter every run. Drawn 6 so gets all the good breaks.

Petaluma BM 72

Warwick farm race 4 (1600m) 2:35 pm

This form Tasmanian mare CABACA who is now having her 3rd run with Chris waller looms as the one to beat here. She was almost stakes level in Tassy and her last start 2nd in Sydney at this level says she is fit and ready to pounce. Also massively in her favour is the fact she has won on a heavy track previously. Big danger today.

BM 64 Hcp

Sandown race 5 (1300m) 2:45 pm

GALLANT PRINCE is up in weight and class and is 2nd up here but he led all the way to easily win when resuming at Pakenham over 1400m. He should lead again and this is 100m less. Has been backed confidently overnight and nothing else has been so I’m assuming he’s ripe and ready to rock and roll.

Tile BM 64

Sandown race 6 (1000m) 3:20 pm

When markets went up yesterday, this maiden 3YO FLYING MEAN was a $6 chance in this BM 64. Then the money came. Jamie Kah has the sit and he has been smashed into $3.60. Resumes here after 3 promising runs last prep. Follow the cash.

BM 70 Hcp

sandown Race 8 (1500m) 4:30 pm

Thios might be the bet of the day. Lightly raced 5YO THE BIG HEIST has won 3 of his only 4 races to date, latest when resuming from a 19 months break. Sits just behind the pace and accelerates well. Fitter now. Big danger and there is money for him.
