We're On 2YO
1. There has been very solid and astute money coming in on Friday for CAVALRY GIRL, who is a last start winner. She has already won here in good enough time.
2. SHINING SMILE continues to show his class and versatility winning his past 3 starts, latest here over 1100m. Had previously won at Sandown and Caulfield. Must be considered again as he is pretty good and v ery consistent.
3. Whenever a Godolphin runner firms on a Friday it’s a sign to get on and their CHERGUI, who is still a maiden after 2 starts, has been well-supported at each way odds. Have in your numbers.
Tips: 5 – 1 – 2
Racing and Sports BM 84
1. With 7 starts and 5 wins on his record, the past 4 in a row, it’s hard to go past REVELARE here. And the big punters agree as he has firmed considerably on Friday. Is unbeaten this trip.
2. Nothing has firmed up because all the money is for the fav but there have been some impressive each way bets written against GHETTO SUPERSTAR who is 3rd up here. last start was a good, encouraging 2nd here over a mile flying home late.
3. The likely leader is PERFECT PLAY who doesn’t win many and who in fact has not won this trip from 9 outings. But, being in front as they swing will help.
Tips: 2 – 15 – 11
Gold Comet
1. The Peter Moody – Kath Coleman trained SHE’S GOT PIZAZZ resumes here but she must be flying because a ton of Friday money has turned up for her. She won just before a spell and Craig Williams rides here. Stable is pretty confident.
2. PERILOUS FIGHTER is very fit as this is his 4th start this time up and he’s already won. Has been backed at each way odds as well.
3. While BOSSY NIC won here last start in slow time but the track was damp underfoot. Gets back and runs on and does seem to run very well here.
Tips: 7 – 6 – 3
All Star Owner BM78
1. WRITTEN BLIGH for Graeme Begg has won her past 2 starts in weaker grade by being on speed all the way. Is in great form and Friday’s betting says plenty of punters feel she has what it takes here.
2. Will the outside of the track be the place to be? Some big each way betters think so and have made PRANCING SPIRIT their play here. He resumes here and is up in class but has very consistent form have won or placed 12 times from his 16 runs.
3. No-one knows yet just how smart this lightly raced and unbeaten galloper from SA named TOP CALIBRE is. He resumes here in a strong race but can carry weight and run time. Hard to beat.
Tips: 13 – 7 – 10
Good Friday 3YO fillies
1. This is one of the more intriguing races of the day. Two horses, both unbeaten, will clash and they are the ONLY ones who have been backed. And in equal share too. I think CLEAN ENERGY who has trialled 3 times this year probably is the most forward and punters have backed that assumption.
2. But, there has almost been dollar-for-dollar thrown at the other unbeaten star SCILLATO. She comes to town after 2 very easy provincial wins latest at Bendigo. Quinella them.
3. The topweight MATISSE also resumes but has form in better grade and should be in the fray at the end.
Tips: 2 – 7 – 1
Schweppes Plate
1. I love a horse in form who likes to run on speed and get the job done. ANGLAND rises in class a little here but he’s won his past 2, latest over a mile here in Nov. Resumes but there is market confidence.
2. Conversely, ACID WASH settles about midfield then unleashes. He’s in terrific form and is also rising in class here but his win when resuming last start at The Valley was first-rate. And has been backed.
3. Keeping the theme of winning past 2 going like the above pair is NAME DROPPER who will keep Angland company on pace. He won at Sandown last start racing like that and will be there battling all the way.
Gr 2 Blamey Stakes
1. I think the luckless STEPARTY may run a bottler here as he is coming back a little in grade. Always races well and is very honest. Rattled home when 3rd to Another Wil and the great Mr Bightside last start. Should swamp these here.
2. Lots of money for the disappointing import PLACE DU CARROUSEL who resumes here. She did win a Cranbourne trial recently. In her defence, she is or has been very good when fresh. Follow the money.
3. ZARDOZI loves Flemington but needs to lift on her poor run when resuming in Sydney in a Gr1 when on speed and weakening to last. Is capable of winning this.
Tips: 7 – 10 – 4
Gr 1 Australian Guineas 3YO
1. This Kiwi visitor SAVAGLEE has done nothing but blow since betting opened but that’s not because big punters know anything is off. It’s because they think Sepals is a superstar. I think this Kiwi is a bonafide star and NZ visitors always run boldly first-up in Australia. Out to each way odds now so I’m getting on.
2. Obviously SEPALS the local star is extremely talented having won 3 from 4 starts latest in big lead-up race here over 1400m by a big margin. Might just be a rising superstar.
3. On his last start NDOLA can win this. He is fitter now after an eye-catching run final stages to grab 2nd to Sepals in the 1400m lead-up. Keep safe.
4. Sydney star POINT AND SHOUT is racing brilliantly in weaker grade but he savages the line and will love this trip.
Tips: 2 – 12 – 10 – 7
Inglis Sprint 3YO
1. ODINSON blew the cobwebs out when he resumed at Flemington in a BM 74 under a big weight running 2nd. was on speed all the way and has been significantly backed on Friday to win this. Back in own age group and does appeal.
2. Sydney filly SCINTILLA just keeps winning. Has now put together 3 on the bounce when easy on pace winner at Warwick Farm over 1400m. Very fit but does come back 400m here.
3. RESERVE BANK is dynamic while fresh and is unbeaten when resuming. So, hard to go past as he is first-up here and did handle a recent jump-out very comfortably. Lots of money for him too.
Tips: 1 – 15 – 7
Furphy BM 84
1. ARQANA has drawn beautifully and was the subject of big bets in the Friday frenzy, firming up to $3.50 at one stage from an opening quote of $4.90. Lots of confidence about her.
2. SAYEDATY SADATY resumes here and opened big odds but steady each way money says he will run a big race even though he has a lot of weight.
3. His stablemate ZIRYAB has had 3 runs this time up in slightly weaker grade and has won 2 of them. Punters are sure another good effort will come in this.
Tips: 15 – 1 – 11
