Kensington Race 2 (1100m) 2:35 pm

Pretty handy rule of thumb to follow – if Jay Mac rides a Godolphin horse – get on. He jumps aboard an unraced one here called TULLE and that’s enough for me. She’s drawn the widest but probably settles off the speed. Is big, powerful and despite the fact she has not won a trial from 4 goes, I suspect they let her go today and we see something special.

Gai and Adrian have two in this and both have undeniable chances. But, I prefer the longer priced of the pair in the mare ZELTA. She can run fast times and although he led and was weak late in a better race over 1400m, she strips fitter here. There won’t be the same up front pressure either and this is her home track. As it is for her stablemate PETERSHAM who looms as the one to beat.

I’m going out on a limb here and backing DELEXO. He resumes here and his form before the spell in slightly tougher class was woeful. I have a theory re him. I think if he’s ridden for speed he’s a better horse and one that can out-scoot these. But last campaign they rode him off the pace in all 4 runs and he did not fire. The mare VALIANCY has been well supported overnight so that’s the quinella.

Kensington Race 7 (1400m) 5:50 pm

last week at Kembla FAMOUS PEDRILLE led all the way to easily win a BM 64 this trip with FURIOUS about 4 lengths behind. Well, Furious meets him 4kg better and should have finished much much closer down in the Gong. Was held up early parts of the straight. Quinella them here but Furious is on top this time.

BULLION BOY has been the best backed runner in this field overnight. He is 3rd up and has improved every run. Should follow the money and get on. TOJAKI has won twice this prep and is the one to beat.
