Feehan Stakes
TREASURETHE MOMENT is shooting for 10 straight wins in the Feehan Stakes and after that scintillating first-up win at Caulfield in the Group 1 Memsie Stakes beating Mr Brightside and company, she certainly appears to be the one they have to beat to grab the winners cheque. This race looks to be a stepping stone for her, leading up to much bigger riches throughout the Spring.
Manikato Stakes
LADY SHENANDOAH looked a good thing beaten first-up in the Concorde Stakes at Randwick behind Headwall. She seems to have come back into work in fine fettle, going by that fresh performance and even though she is drawn off the track, she will likely find a back to follow and be able to work through her gears and run over the top of them last 200m.
ESSENTRIC NATURE swooped upon them last time out and ran away for victory at $9 over 1300m this track and he looks well suited again to get the win. William Pike stays on board and this five-year-old gelding is meeting very similar opposition in a BM66 race and only goes up slightly in weight. The extra 100m looks perfect for him and he should take a power of stopping.
Sandown Stakes
EVAPORATE has been mixing it with the best in the business over his past efforts, M rBrightside, Swift Falcon & most recently going down to Private Eye at Caulfield by 2.8 lengths. Although drawn off the track for this assignment, he will enjoy the slightly weaker company and the wide open spaces of the Hillside track. Looks like a nice each-way investment.
Weetwood Handicap
NETTUNO has drawn perfectly in this year’s edition of the prestigious Weetwood Handicap. He should camp just off the speed and he has been right in the mix this campaign, last time out he just couldn’t catch the tearaway leader Party For Two at Doomben. Ryan Maloney knows this boy well and he should give him every chance to take a comfortable sit in the run and look to be able to get over them late.
