Horses Racing at Feehan Stakes

Best Bets – Sat 23rd September

CAULFIELD R7 (1400m) 3:40 pm

Although he has drawn wide, I’m sticking with LITTLE BROSE who has shown he is looking for the step up in journey. He has been quite dour this time in and should be cherry ripe third-up for this Guineas Prelude. He looks tremendous value at double figure odds and if he can get some cover in the run, he should be strong at the line.

CAULFIELD R8 (2000m) 4:20 pm

A very open affair here and did like the run of THE SUMMIT last time out in the Heatherlie Handicap here at Caulfield when 4th behind Soulcombe. That was a solid first-up performance battling away right to the line and he has fantastic second-up stats winning 3 out of 4. A great each way chance.

CAULFIELD R9 (1800m) 4:55 pm

Sticking with ALLIGATOR BLOOD in the Underwood Stakes now that the camp have settled on backing him up. He has come through last week’s run in the Makybe Diva Stakes well and should be able to dictate this race from the front to suit him. He won this race last year when run at Sandown and hopefully will repeat that performance here.

TOOWOOMBA R8 (1200m) 5:30 pm

YELLOW BRICK looks to be one of the better bets of the day here in the Weetwood. After winning the Gold Coast Guineas he had no luck in his two Group 3 runs at Eagle Farm. The camp has much bigger targets on their agenda, so a first-up win here would be a good start to his preparation. He won a trial nicely at Doomben and should be forward enough to win here on his home track.

BELMONT PARK R5 (1300m) 3:20 pm

I like COLOSSAL to be one of the better bets on the Belmont card. Has been a little disappointing when a beaten favorite a couple of times recently but he has had a freshen up and the small field here should suit perfectly. Pike on board, he should give him every chance to get back into the winners stall.
