Schweppes Plate 2YO Fillies
A tough bunch of juvenile fillies set to race. I’m on the newcomer AGARWOOD. She’s with Gai and Adrian and is by new season sensation sire Wootton Bassett. She also gives the impression that this soft, possible even heavy track will suit. I got that from the way she handled wet ground to easily win a recent trial. Tim Clark to ride and despite the fact Godolphin’s Lipstick looks talented, this filly may be a flying machine. Just by and by, Sylph has been heavily backed.
Cogburn BM 72
I do love a horse with Jay Mac on it first up. That booking says the horse is ready to run very boldly and we have one here in NEGOTIATIONS for Ciaron Maher. No disadvantage at all being wide on this track and he must be primed to win.
Asahi BM 72
Big drop in class here for the 3YO SIGIRIYA ROCK who is very fit. Last start he was on speed and plugged on fairly when 5th in the Packer Plate over 2000m on a soft surface. Gets that here but less fire power coming at him late. Can win.
Hyland F&M BM 70
It’s hard under normal circumstances to tip a horse who led in a race at Echuca but faded to last beaten 24 lengths, but today I am. I think JUST GLAMOROUS can bounce back. And the reason is, she can’t stay. Gai and Adrian poured the work into her hoping she could, because her pedigree says she should. But she can’t. Last start she led at a fast clip over 2100m and just folded when they turned for home. Slightly weaker here, this is also 500m less and she can lead all the way this time. Changing Colours for the quinella bet.
BM 70
On the strength of his super fast effort last time in work at this course and his smart jump outs in recent weeks, I’m on GRAND LARCENY. I just suspect if he jumps from this gate he burns to the front and it is game over. Blake Shinn to ride and the money has been strong.
