Best Bets – Wednesday 10th July

Schweppes 2YO

warwick farm race 1 (1200m) 12:50 pm

It’s often favourable to back a Gai and Adrian horse while they are fresh because they come to the track with a spring in their step and are race-ready. It is especially cool to get on ’em when they are the ONLY speed in the race so I’m all over TRUNK in this. He is fast early, will control the pace and be just that bit too far in front of Tarpaulin when they turn. Quinella them.

I just love the trajectory this Chris waller galloper MONARCH’S BRAE is on. He is super fit now after 4 runs in this grade and was just beaten last start. He probably leads these all the way and with Nash on top, who just happens to be the best front-running rider in the land, to me he looks a very good bet.

You just had to love the way HEADLEY GRANGE charged home at the end of 1400m in a much, much stronger race to finish 4th last start. The extra 200m here looks absolutely ideal. But, to counter that he does go up 8kg which is massive. He is super fit and on his home patch which is also advantageous and I think he sails down the outside and wins

Canberra race 6 (1080m) 4:06 pm

I just love the weight of money that has poured in overnight for LOVE SHUCK in this. Drawn perfectly in 3, is always a threat at this level and stable confidence is high.

Ole Kirk 3YO

warwick farm race 7 (1300m) 4:20 pm

Look, I know he will be short but if they bet $1.50 or better just have what ever is in your wallet on KERGUELEN. He is a mud lark, the track will be cut up and wet by the time this race comes around and he looks a safe and sure way to make a few quid. Go on, end the day on a high.
