Best Bets – Wednesday 19th August

Interesting race. I think this unraced Gai and Adrian 3YO BLESSED EAGLE is already Saturday grade but he’ll need to be as this is a strong maiden. I suspect he jumps out fast, spears across and leads them with the heavily tried fav Profitabelle coming across too and will park on his outside. They will clear out and it will be a battle of attrition down the running. I’m on the bone and muscle to narrowly prevail.

I kinda think that this is a put in take out race. COLUMBUS is a Saturday horse and is 3rd up here after running out of gas in a tougher race last start when 2nd up. Down in class and wins for fun.

I do think we will win a lot today. Put all your Columbus winnings on MR MILLER. He is a Group horse in the making and I suspect he gets a perfect run here. Jay Mac will park him up in 4th on the fence, the oceans will open up as they turn as everyone looks for better ground. He will dart through a big gap and then just watch him accelerate when in full flight. Wins from his highly promising stable mate Phantom Major. Quinella them.

I suspect Jay Mac, who has been out of form lately, will bounce back and ride 4 winners today. This should be one of them. ROYAL AIR FORCE was 3rd this grade last start. Should have won. Got caught on the fence and didn’t get out in time. Sails home here at good each way odds.

I like the fact the lightly raced STAR TRIP is in this. He’s 3rd up after a terrific run in a slightly easier race to place last start. Drawn well, gets down in the weights, is on the improve and should be right in the fray here.
