Best Bets – Wednesday

I love form on the board and the number one saddlecloth here, PIN UP SHEILA has that. She led all the way in the mud last start to win a similar race on debut. This isn’t any tougher – unless one of these unraced ones is outstanding – so I suspect she jumps to the lead and does it all again.

Fairly even field but I’m on CONCORDIA WIND. She is 3rd up, has shown that she can run at this level, has placed already this prep but more importantly, gets a nice weight relief with the apprentice allowance. That makes her a major player to me and at each way odds, looks a good bet.

Hmmm. I love horses coming back in grade, so here goes. I will back SCINTILLA. ln her last prep she did things that are superior to these. She is down a long way in grade – but – she has had 3 starts this time in and looked weak each time so she may not have come up. One last chance because this is much easier for her.

I’ll never understand why Doomben races over 1110m. Just add one more metre to the trip. Not too hard and 1111m looks nicer! Anyway, off that, this open maiden is weak so I’m on the improving 2yo named DOMINATOR. He has speed and is on debut in Qld after 2 handy runs in Sydney.

I do believe the way the race will be run that THINKYAHOT is a good thing. Will be on pace from the outset and kick as they turn. Will prove too strong down the straight for this weak field.
