Lots to like about the way the filly Polymnia charged to the line when resuming last start in a very similar race. She was behind runners, then when given her head she ran home hard. But, so did BENDRODT over 1500m in his maiden when 3rd. Polymnia, who is odds on fav here, beat a few of these home that day but meets them all a lot worse off at the weights. I’m on Nash to get Bendrodt home hardest. Quinella them.

Am I missing something here? I think BRIGIDINE GAL wins this for fun. She is 2nd up and ready to sit off the speed, with cover then go bang. Zousain Bolt is in well at the weights for the quinella play. But, I say get on Brigidine Gal, that $6 represents a great each way bet for mine.

Perhaps the best trueism in racing is this: when Jay Mac gets on a Godolphin horse, you back it. So, I will splurge on ADMITTED here who is first up after a lengthy spell. Stable must see something special.  Rails draw a big help too. Metallic Ruler for quinella betters.

It’s a big ask for this French import SEVEN’S to win here at just his 4th start in an actual race and 2nd here in Australia, but he looks gifted. Ran home stylishly on Ozzie debut this level when 3rd over a mile and his French wins were over 2000m so he stay and prefers this. Drawn to be midfield with cover. Looks the pea.

Only one bet to be had in Melbourne and that is ATHANATOS who is 2nd up in a very winnable race. Stable confidence is high and the money has flooded in for him. Should win from the lightly raced Pula.
