Best Bets – Wednesday 19th February

The Chase 2YO Mdn

Warwick Farm race 1 (1100m) 2:20 pm

On paper and indeed with the bookies this looks a very open affair. Burma Star has already raced in stakes company and there is money for the unraced King Of Pop. But, I’m on another unraced thing called SEA ADMIRAL. They were offering $11 on Tuesday and given how this bloke accelerated after racing 3-deep through to win his trial, he looks well above average. Quinella him with the above pair.

Captivant 3YO Mdn

Warwick Farm race 3 (1400m) 3:30 pm

Lots of runners and lots of chances but I think being out in front with them all battling for positions behind you is the best place to be. Sooo, I’m on CONCHIERO. He’s drawn deep which is perfect as he can fly out, come across and land in front early. Has that bone and muscle fitness and was 2nd this grade when resuming last start. Hard to catch. Perhaps Wal’s Me Mate can lob for 2nd.

Proven BM 72

Warwick farm race 4 (1000m) 4:05 pm

Not really my go tipping odds on pops but the weight of money for SILENCIO PORFAVOUR has been immense. He is unbeaten and resumes here on his home track. Cantered around in a recent trial and just looks perfectly placed. May well be Saturday grade.

Asahi Dry BM 72

Warwick farm race 6 (1400m) 5:15 pm

When last in work FLYING THINKER easily won 3rd up. Today, she is 3rd up again after a solid 3rd in this grade behind Scintilla last start. Now, she meets that rival 3kg better this time for being beaten just over 2 lengths. Is nicely placed, drawn to get the best run, looks a great each way bet, and I suggest you quinella them here.

BM 64 Hcp

Sandown race 5 (1200m) 6:00 pm

I like the look of CAESAR CIPHER in this. He’s 2nd up here after a terrific opening effort at Wangaratta in a fast run BM 64 race over 1170m. He was a mile back to the turn then really savaged the line. This long straight will suit as will the extra trip, and he is bound to be a length or so fitter this time. Milbrae appears to be the one to beat for quinella players.
