But, she may be very special. Was cantering in a recent trial when 5th and there has been a lot of money for her overnight. Should settle about 4th on the fence from this gate and could explode late.

I suspect, now that she’s had 4 runs this time up, that WOUNDER will settle about 3rd either on the rails or one off. Then, if all goes to plan, Captain Maverick, her strablemate, will lead into the home turn, kick, and only she will have the wheels to run him down. Looks the best quinella bet all day.

On his last run where he led all the way under 60kg to win a Hawkesbury BM 64 over 1000m, it is hard to find a mathematical reason to bet against BATTLE HYMN. He ran home in 33.52sec. That is faster than these can finish and he will turn for home in front! It’s not the first time he has dashed home in sub 34sec when leading. Around here, I can’t see them catching him.

This should be a thrill for King Charles. He owns GILDED WATER who looks to secure a spot in the Melbourne Cup by winning this. And, I think he will win this comfortably. Declan Bates should control his wildness and that will in turn preserve his energy. If he’s full of running when they straighten, he wins this. Berkeley Square is fit now and weighted to run a big race also. Quinella them.
