Canterbury Race 1 (1200m) 12:50 pm

This unraced filly BEVERLY HILLS is unplaced in 3 trials to date but I think they know she is very good. Probably takes a few strides to find her feet but my suggestion is get in early with your bet because she has finishing power. I’m getting on. Quinella her with Triple Two Eight for Gai and Adrian who probably leads.

Canterbury Race 2 (1200m ) 1:25 pm

Experience and ability when combined in a field of ostensibly debutantes appeals to me a great deal. So, I’m all over KOKATAHI from the Waller yard. Two starts to date, both in this grade for a pair of solid finishing 3rd placings. Knows the deal now and should dash over these late from Maccbi who is in well at the weights.

Canterbury Race 4 (1250m) 2:35 pm

Tough little race this but I have to follow my system and stick with AMREEKIYAH here. She’s unbeaten in 2 starts to date both at the provincials so this is a step up in grade. And she is resuming. However, there is more than a touch of class about her. She sat back in the pack on debut and won at Kembla, then up in class and led all the way to win at Newcastle over Pinito who has since won a stakes race and who was 2nd in the Gr 1 Oaks last start. That’ll do me.

Big weights here for all so the 3kg claim bringing the in form LUNA POWERED down to 55.5kg makes him a bit of a weighted special. He’s very fit now and is 5th up in this. Recent placings at the provincials so he’s ready and the weight of money on him last night makes you feel like the stable is rather confident. He gets 7kg off the top jumper The Cunning Fox here. Maybe that’s your quinella.

Third up from a spell in this, and he was sent to the lead last start for a toughening up run, hmmm, does sound a lot like DELRICO is ready to rumble here. Zac Lloyd takes the mount and from this perfect inside draw I see him sitting behind the speed in about 3rd or 4th until they turn then finishing too well from No Drama who has a big weight but also has solid recent form on his side.
