Local form suggests Herman Hesse is perhaps the one to beat but I rather fancy this English visitor SEA KING. He’s a travelling companion of Docklands who loomed in the Cox Plate last Saturday and ran 5th. These companion horses tend to do well as they get in light in these easier races and that’s how I see it playing out today. Trainer Harry Eustace would know what is needed to win down here and he’d be rating this bloke off Docklands, ie he looks well placed.

I suspect money will come for this topweight YELLOW SAM because he is the class of the field. Yeah, his opening run this campaign at Caulfield was average but to be fair, this is a lot easier and he boasts a really, really good 2nd up record. Big weight, but is the best athlete.
