One thing we know for sure is that the Chris Waller stable is very astute. They know talent. So, when they unloaded on their well-bred juvenile CENTRAL COAST like he was the only horse in the race on debut, you had to respect that. He went down by a nose. I suspect that some optimism in his ability will shine through again. Get on.

I saw one at the trials who impressed the socks off me recently. Her name is STRAIGHT SETS. She’s from a mare named Sabatini, and the mare was named after the great Argentinian tennis player Gabriella Sabatini – so this flying filly is well named. She, the filly, won her trial with her head on her chest, bursting home the final 200m. Might be rather special so I suggest you back her now and not wait.

It’s been a while since this British import LENNOX won a race and in fact he has never won a race in Australia but he gets a shot at them on a good track today and is 3rd up. I think he fires up this time around. Drops from 61kg which he carried into 3rd at the provincials last start to 57kg today and that should do the trick. Quinella with Guzumped.

Former Kiwi galloper ITZA CHARMDEEL is now with prolific winning training Matthew Dunn and he presents 2nd up from a break here. Terrific run on Aussie debut when making ground late in a much stronger race for 6th. Claim helps too and he looks a safe bet.

CASPERNOVA resumes here. He had won 3 in a row then as a drifting favourite last start he raced as if tired and was 4th in this grade. Fresh now, ready to resume his winning ways and drawn to get a great run just behind the pace.
