Ranvet 2YO Plate
Unraced 2YOs and all of them come with nice trials behind them. I’ve looked at every trial and I do think the most impressive galloper with room to improve etc is ICARIAN DREAM. Knows what to do, is fit and can finish hard. All traits needed to win a baby race.
Super 3YO Mdn
Super maiden so they all can gallop. I really liked the trials of this unraced galloper FIRST MISSION. He’s a colt still which says something and he is the stablemate of the consistent Marais. Got back in his trials but ran on and he seems to have a great deal of acceleration. Maybe quinella them.
Grassroots Gallop
Follow the overnight money. Always was and still is the best advice in racing. Nothing really in this big field has firmed up but RUSSIAN METEOR has not budged from his opening quote. He did place 2nd in a slightly tougher race before spelling. Resumes here and has won first up in the past. Respect all that.
Schweppes BM84
When these speed horses get in form and very fit they have a tendency to keep racing well. FREAK OF NATURE, such a great name, is that type. He’s won 5 of his last 8 starts including a gutsy all the way win this grade last start. Is up 3kg on that win but that day drew gate 15. He steps from the rails draw today. Hard to catch but Verdad is well-supported to do so. Quinella them.
Coongy Cup
BERKELEY SQUARE is going for 3 on the bounce here and he just looks deliciously placed. Came from the clouds to win over 1800m at Sandown last start beating rival again Star Vega. This is harder but he is in superb form and looks to be relishing his racing. Looms large for mine and I will quinella them again although Kingswood has been heavily backed.
