Sandown race 1 (1300m) 1:00 pm

Tough race as there are some nice young horses coming through but I will always defer to the money train and plenty of it came in overnight for ATHANATOS. He is 3rd up into this and last start he ran on gamely into 2nd place in this very grade at this track. Much fitter now so I’m getting on. I shall be keeping an eye on the unraced Fields Of courage too.

Gee, I like the look of this filly STAR CROUPIER. i know she is resuming, and her only win was at the provincials and this is 1400m first up but there is more than a touch of class about her. Lots of money for the Hurricane Georgie so quinella them but I see Star Croupier on the fence in 2nd or 3rd to the end then extending away.

the last time FREAK OF NATURE raced in a BM 64 race, he carried the same weight he has here and won by nearly 3 lengths. It was a heavy track that day and is a good one today – which he has also won on. His 3 runs since that BM 64 win here have been in harder races and he has missed a place. Back in grade here, expect a bold showing.

This looks ideal for the son of former champion Jameka. His name is FEDERER and he will probably start around $1.95. I think he’s a Saturday grade horse already so he should round these up half way down the straight and streak away. Get on.

Well, the big question is answered here – is MAWJOOD a stakes class filly? She faces a tough task here against the inform Hi dubai but I suspect the answer is yes. I think she sits back in 3rd and just outguns the older mare late. Quinella them but wager with a bit of confidence on mawjood.
